Tower Of ondon looked very promising on debut and should improve to be a Derby contnender next year
August 19, 2022 at 23:31 #1611954I was at Salisbury this evening and I thought Flying Honours was impressive in the Stonehenge Stakes over a mile.
He won impressively in what looked quite a good time to me.
By Sea The Stars out of a mare who won a French Group 3 at 1m2f110yds and had winning form at up to 1m3f110yds, Flying Honours is a full brother to a winner over 1m6f119yds, looks certain to stay 1m4f next year and has done well to show the speed and precocity he has done as a 2yo.
I think there are worse bets at 25/1 for The Derby than him.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 1, 2022 at 11:41 #1612992Naval Power being upped to a mile on Saturday
Think he may be one for this more than the guineas personally, teofilo is a strong stamina influence
September 1, 2022 at 11:46 #1612993I’m pretty sure Flying Honours would need to be supplemented.
But I am hoping he will go for something like the Royal Lodge next where a good run might put him in the Epsom picture.

Flying honours by sea the stars out of a dubawi mare couldn’t have much better breeding

September 1, 2022 at 15:13 #1613012Don’t think so personally looking at teofilos better progeny they tend to stay well
See him as a Derby horse not a guineas horse myself
And his entry this Saturday suggests to me Appleby thinks that too
If he thought he was a guineas horse he’d be running in the national stakes or champagne stakes next weekend

Nations Pride by Teofilo out of a miler, like Naval Power, didnt get 12f went back to 10f so my thought is he may not get that far. We’ll see.
September 2, 2022 at 09:58 #1613062Nations pride is out of an oasis dream mare so has much more speed on the dams side than naval power who is out of a dubawi mare
September 3, 2022 at 13:34 #1613196I personally think Naval Power isn’t bred to stay further than 1m2f and will go for the 2,000 Guineas.
He runs in the Royal Lodge next, which means I suspect Flying Honours might be aimed at the 1m2f Zetland Stakes.

We will have a short ish priced Derby favourite if one of them wins well
Hopefully for my sake it’s tower of london
September 10, 2022 at 04:52 #1614063Ryan Moore has chosen Auguste so happy with that.
September 10, 2022 at 11:23 #1614085I’d be a little concerned about the ground for tower of london
To my eye seemed to have a good ground action on debut with very little knee bend
So I won’t be writing him off if he dissapoints
September 10, 2022 at 12:52 #1614098Two colts who are plenty short enough prices for The Derby based on what they have done on a racecourse so far.
Love the pedigrees, both nailed on to stay 1m4f next year on breeding, but these are two Maiden winners having their first crack at Pattern company.
Neither has done a time, Tower Of London’s form hasn’t really been franked and though the fourth behind Auguste Rodin has won, the merit is hard to assess.
And with the exception of Caroline Street (sixth in a Group 3) it’s all Maiden form on offer today.
Fascinating race, but not sure there’s a future Classic winner in the field just yet.
Something needs to win this decisively to get my attention.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 10, 2022 at 14:44 #1614111Tower of london and serious challenge cut each others throats there, neither had any hope of running to there best
Auguste Rodin was tough but doesn’t look a superstar yet
But obviously what horses like this do this year is just a bonus, it’s the progression from 2 to 3 and going up in trip that is key
September 10, 2022 at 14:48 #1614112I really couldn’t have Tower Of London on my mind for The Derby at this stage – I’m not even that keen on the winner.
Tower Of London’s maiden hasn’t worked out well and he’s done nothing here so “capable of better than he’s shown today” is the best I can say, while I think runner up Alder might have won had he shown more maturity at the business end.

Clearly a middle distance horse – his best point in the race the last 100 yards and still looks green.
