Still wishing I’d backed Vadamar at a big price. Owner is very shrewd and he’s a bit of a forgotten horse. Could there be a huge upset today, perhaps?

Derby thoughts today
June 4, 2011 at 14:00 #358839Pour Moi for me (ho ho).
He looks a class act and Fabre seems very bullish about his chances.
Carlton House, well, that mini-setback and his short price put me off.
June 4, 2011 at 14:03 #358841My three for the derby, some small e/w bets for extra interest!!
1. Ocean war @16/1
2. Vadamar @20/1
3. Masked Marvel @28/1It would be great to see Rectical win for Pat Smullen too, great jockey!!
June 4, 2011 at 15:08 #358851Mikael Barzalona
He can’t have known where the winning line was, bless him.
Unbelievable. The kid must be destined for the greatest career ever if he can win a derby in
that
fashion on his first attempt! Flashy, eh?!
June 4, 2011 at 15:10 #358852Crazy stuff, I have never seen anything like it
June 4, 2011 at 15:13 #358853Haha all you AOB lovers on here…
Recital this, Seville that!!
Mickael Barzalona is my new hero!!
BRAVO, POUR MOI… BRAVO!!
June 4, 2011 at 15:19 #358856Ryan Moore’s face told that he felt he was hard done by, but Pour Moi – well, to win when the jockey is pulling you up! It would have been awful for his connections if he had lost the race on the line. I hope Mickael Barzalona never does that again though….. but I bet he does!
A great trainer like Fabre deserved to win it at least once, I’m pleased, for him.
June 4, 2011 at 15:26 #358860wd winners that was pure class
recital’s ride was just about everything fallon talked about not doing…it’s gone now, native khan as one paced as everyone thought
funniest celebration ever too

Reminded me of Usain Bolt at the Olympics. Celebrating before the line & breaking the World Record in the process. He’s either cocky or misjudged the line. Either way, I’m having that finish put on a poster.
Even though I’m gutted, gutted, gutted. I’d been tipping up Treasure Beach e.w for two weeks.
For me, the best horse won though.
June 4, 2011 at 15:33 #358864Wonderful stuff!
I had given up with about 2 furlongs to run but then….
Shall be taking Mrs Bluebell out tonight!
June 4, 2011 at 15:36 #358865I said i was having a cover on Pour Moi if it ran and thank god i did.
Not sure i would have survived if i had a big bet on Pour Moi. Heart in the mouth stuff. Nearly would have died
June 4, 2011 at 15:39 #358867A fantastic performance from the winner, great stuff from all concerned with the horse…
Leaves a sour taste in the mouth though watching a pathetic presentation of it all by the BBC, a total bunch of amateurs in every respect…
Just as you think it can’t get any worse they finish the piece blaming Carlton House losing a shoe, and saying it has saved the bookies 20 million…a complete and utter joke!

And Recital a great place lay!!!!
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
June 4, 2011 at 15:51 #358876If Barzalona misjudged where the line was, he also misjudged his position. Treasure Beach still infront with Barzalona stood up celebrating, pulling at the horse’s head.
I’ve said before Barzalona is a brilliant young rider, but looking at it subjectively; I think the horse won despite the jockey in this case.
Pour Moi a length or two better than distances suggest.
Value Is EverythingJune 4, 2011 at 15:55 #358880Can’t see him being beat in the Arc with that acceleration.
June 4, 2011 at 16:01 #358884what a set of coonts NK’s owners are
Why?
Fallon signed a contract , trousered a reported £10k retainer to ride NK then wanted to ride something else.
How would you feel if you paid a tradesman £10k and he didn’t do any work?
