Firstly, well done to connections for getting Caspian Prince pretty much the same draw, conditions and handicap mark as last year, as he attempts to win this for the umpteenth time.
One thing that staggers me however is the absence of previous C/D winner El Astronaute. This race is absolutely made for him – he ran well last year – and his recent exploits at York (which is a darn sight more difficult track for front runners) have shown he’s in prime form right now. As is his trainer.
I was planning a decent ante-post bodge on him months ago but at no stage has he ever even been entered for the race. Wholly bizarre considering the size of the pot.

June 2, 2018 at 12:35 #1355821Going for the filly EQUIMOU to make a good show in this.
Was at Newmarket when she ran 4th to Mabbs Cross in the Palace House Stakes with Havana Grey half a length behind her in 5th. She’s risen 5lb in the weights and she’ll need a clear run as she likes to come with a late run but drawn 11 and good EW chances..
EQUIMOU – EW
Currently around 18/1

She has a 5lb penalty to carry and will need a clear run as she comes with a late finish but she’s definitely in with a good chance to win this.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 2, 2018 at 16:01 #1355882Thanks Nathan and Jac, I’m hoping this can turn into a very good day for me if
either the Warrior or the Rascal can do the business
June 2, 2018 at 16:14 #1355885WD BigG, think you were the only one to pick him in Pat’s handicap comp too
June 2, 2018 at 16:18 #1355886Get in there Big G. Well done

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 2, 2018 at 16:20 #1355887Cheers green, I was lagging well behind in Pat’s compy so needed that
June 2, 2018 at 16:21 #1355889Cheers Steve, let’s hope we are both cheering in 10 minutes, surely the Warrior
is up to taking this.June 2, 2018 at 16:39 #1355891..
June 2, 2018 at 17:32 #1355923TOP STUFF GRAHAM
June 2, 2018 at 18:27 #1355935Thanks Nausered and Raymo, Saxon Warrior and Young Rascal were a bit of a disappointment,
but I topped today off with Aces in the last (in both of my competitions) so I’m more than
pleased
June 2, 2018 at 23:18 #1355957Well done BigG – please for ya.
With Edward Lewis and the Rascal dissappinting, I’m absolutely delighted to come away from the track with a profit today with my three winners (put up in the various comps on here this morning).
I have a terrible record at Epsom but I found genuinely horse’s off the front went very well over the two days. Something to keep in mind for next year.
Once again, well played bud.
June 3, 2018 at 00:42 #1355963Cheers MOM, I clocked you had a treble today in Nathan’s compy, and a nice nap
with Dash Of Spice. You didn’t have to sweat much with that one, he made it look
so easy and that was with a burst blood vessel too. He’s one to watch
June 3, 2018 at 01:09 #1355965Got no interest in this race, been worse than a lottery for me over the years. However, thought I’d better look in as there’d been an abnormal amount of posts for a small race.
Found the reason. Well done BigG for doing something I’ve never been able to.
WD MOM 2.
