I noted EMANIC in the novice chase at Huntingdon on Saturday. The winner Persina Waters looked fit, jumped well and was a deserved winner.
Emanic caught my eye as he was consistently taking a length out of the other runners at each fence, even allowing for Persian Waters’ good jumping. He looked as if he would need the race beforehand, and this showed as he got very tired coming into the straight before falling at the second last.
One slight note of caution was that when loose he jumped the barriers blocking off the open ditch and then jumped the ditch almost from a stand. I just wonder if he did some harm to his back in the process.
If the horse turns out soon then he’s presumably come to no harm and i think he will win chases.
