I don’t mean to run down Monmouth. In Ireland a lot of people will use the term "glorified dogtrack" to describle a racecourse. Its a term for a tight course not an insult. Lost in translation maybe…
I watch almost every race every day so I’d say I have a fairly broad definition of
"what is horseracing", I’d need to have given the quality of most of it.Have you been there, empty wallet? The only similarity with Monmouth is that they run in the same direction.
No i’ve not been Zorro, nor have i been to Monmouth.
However, from the info i’ve read, seen and the races i’ve watched at these two racecourses, i have managed to figure out that both have a straight homestretch, then a bend, then a straight backstretch, then another bend.
Amazing similarity don’t you think

"Dog racing, dog track" just seems a tad offensive to a lot of racetracks and to a lot of good horse that have run on these type of tracks and this is what i was trying to get at

I would say thats a pretty common layout across thousands of tracks around the world! Dosnt mean to say they are all the same…
Where racecourses are concerned, size matters.

Check your source again Aidan. Excellent Art doesn’t go to Japan but he may be off elsewhere…
