As I watched Olivier Peslier and Michael Barzalona winning races in Dubai tonight and then was struck silent by Aidan O’briern saying that Joseph knows more about See You Then than he does I could not help thinking that Ballydoyle is losing a wheel.Colm ODonoghue rode a supreme race on DLLs but is not deemed good enough to ride the first string. What a farce.Incidentally Treasure Beach ran brilliantly and I look forward to his summer campaign in the US if he follows the trail of Cape Blanco.

He already won the Secretariat Stakes on Arlington Million day last year, so I’d expect him to target the Million.

Nice to see the grade "A" jockey Johanny Murtagh involved in two of the finishes. Also the other Grade"A" jockey Fallon winning a big one.

Irrespective of whether Joseph deserved to be on the horse or not, So You Think would never have won that one. Maybe one could argue that a "top" jock would have made the difference on St Nic, even though I do personally think Joseph is a very good jockey, but it would not have changed anything for So you Think. He gave the horse an inch-perfect ride, but SYT was just not good enough despite having the run of the race. Overhyped and overrated.

Remember the Coral Eclipse and the power of So You Think when he collared Workforce? How can anyone say he does not have a turn of foot.Maybe we should go back to having Heffernan ride him?He has had two years racing now without a break. The BC was the first week of November and training must have started January for the World Cup and the Kentucky Derby. So So You Think never got a break since his last season in Australia.

SYT was said to thrive on races in quick succession, but it could well be that that, in combination with his ‘miles on the clock’ at the top level, 16 Group 1s, 8 of which, in the lead up to this race, one Group 2, three Goup 3s, a Listed and a nursery.

Of those, he had won 8 Group 1s, the single Group 2, 2 of the 3 Group 3s and the nursery. It was asking too much against the best in the world, presumably, most if not all, laid out for it years in advance; more years than SYT.

Has he ever been rated below 120? Even when he loses he gives a group one performance.Think of the races he would have won if specifically prepared for them .Instead he has run against the Racing Calendar. Every big race he has run in. Surely the horse needs a break. And i don’d mean a week in Dunai.

So You Think looked one paced: maybe it was the surface ? There is now talk of Aidan O’Brien running him ( and Excelebration ) against Frankel in the Lockinge. Maybe he wants to try and sharpen up the horse’s speed – or, if he runs a good race and finishes close enough behind Frankel ( as he undoubtedly would ), then O’Brien may consider contesting all the top mile races with him, especially with the prospect of Frankel moving up to ten furlongs after Newbury.

SYT would get trounced by Excelebration at a mile in my opinion, nevermind Frankel.

I agree, it seems to be a boom time for milers I think. Frankel aside, Excelebration and the retired Canford Cliffs are both better than Goldikova ever was for mine. Perhaps Immortal Verse still has some upside as well. But I still want to see SYT try it, if he blazes along and sets up a big break it will be exciting I think.

If I recall he ran Cape Blanco in the Queen Ann over a mile last year(following a trip to Meydan) to warm him up for his trials and tribulations in the USA.Hard to know what he do be thinking.
