A very rare bet in this race for me.
I liked Blues Singer at a price for Top Novices at Aintree, but he was a non runner. Did bet him though at Newbury, but he didn’t blow me away
He actually ran in this last year, and I’m hoping he fares better here. He was treble figures last year, and though I’m happy with the more modest 25’s, I’m holding off to see I can beat it

February 20, 2026 at 04:34 #1755260I was really taken by Blues Singer’s debut, VTC, but he has been bitterly disappointing since. I backed him e/w in this last year (at 125-1) but only to three places so, of course, he finished fourth. I’d like to see him bounce back but, like you, I was completely underwhelmed by his reappearance effort.
I might have a few pennies e/w on him, but the one I fancy is Matiwo. Hacked up last time, gets the four year olds’ allowance and the trainer, who is no mug, holds the horse in very high regard. It’s also interesting that he runs here instead of sticking to his own age group in the Adonis Hurdle earlier on the card. Backed him win only at 12s.
