June 13, 2015 at 12:14 #1104177I’m off to Tesco to stock up on tissues, it’s going to be an emotional hour just watching the trailer on The Morning Line set me off.
There will never be another trainer that weaved so much magic into training all his racehorses.

I got through more tissues than I thought Joni, what a fantastic tribute to man and horse, I’m never going to erase that recording.
Jane Cecil and his son Jake revealed so much more about the man and it left you wondering if Frankel had stayed in training with Sir Henry for just one more year would he have succumbed to his illness so quickly.
Even though Frankel was only 3 miles up the road he might have well been going to Australia by the sadness shown. on Sir Henry’s face as he left.
Wonderful shots of Frankel kicking up his heels in the paddock, looked just like the rearing horse bronze statue in the middle of the roundabout at the approach to The July Course and National Stud at Newmarket…breathtaking.

Sadly I don’t think that we will ever see the likes of either of them again.
That makes the bittersweet nature of it, all the more poignant.June 13, 2015 at 21:11 #1104486Inspirational

June 13, 2015 at 21:25 #1104488Yes an extraordinary story beautifully told. To see Frankel bucking and kicking really made me sad that stallions have such short careers. He was born to run and how amazing would it be if he was still around and ready to race next week.
It brought back many great memories of Henry. Everybody loved him didn’t they? I think it was partly because he was around for so long. I grew up watching him and his horses and there are not many sports where your hero keeps going for over 40 years are there? He was also so wonderfully old-fashioned. A throwback to the old days. And yet so humble and modest, he would talk to anybody. I got a text from a non-racing mate after the programme who said he can see what I was going on about all these years now! One of a kind.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 14, 2015 at 11:08 #1104725It was a touching tribute but I expected more . For example , Frankel’s
demolition performance ( his best ever ) in his 2nd Queen Anne didn’t
receive a mention ; like wise the Dewhurst and other races – probably due to television rights and other considerations.. I know it was a tribute to both Frankel and Sir Henry but it all felt bit hurried and ominously saccahrine
at times . The great man ( and Frankel ) deserved more.Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
June 14, 2015 at 13:36 #1104777But thankfully lot of non racing people have watched and enjoyed it [it’s had a good mention on my ‘laidees forum’]. I feel that a lot of controversial stuff has been missed out but then again it was shown on Channel 4.
June 14, 2015 at 13:39 #1104778I see what you are saying Himself. My guess is that they had to find the balance between what racing fans might have wanted and what would keep non-racing fans interested. I would certainly have liked it to be 2 or even 3 hours but my non-racing friend loved it. Was interesting that Tom Queally barely got a mention and wasn’t interviewed.

June 14, 2015 at 14:27 #1104796I thought the travelling head lad/girl [imo they are the most underrated people in racing]came across incredibly well. I wish Sir Henrys rose garden could be opened to the public in his memory in some way; I think he would have liked that. And I loved the sketches of horses that he did; similar to the original drawings in National Velvet.
June 14, 2015 at 19:49 #1105082Beautiful!!!
Yes there were things I would have liked to have seen added but if I had my way it would have been THREE hours!!
