Firstly she is a mature mare not a filly, the last 2 mares i can remember going there were Alverta and Miss Andretti,so a very good record they have.Every chance she wont come you say? Why is that? And the occasion getting to her? She has raced in front of crowds of at least 85 000 that i know of,and packed out to capacity courses,in Brisbane,Adelaide etc, which was more a carnival atmosphere so dont worry about the occasion getting to her! It is her first time on a plane and she has 30 hours travel ahead of her, thats her only danger. Those who said Zenyatta was better known :)The first time in history that the Saturday of Royal Ascot will be a sell out and they are considering opening up the heath to let more in.

"H" was having a laugh ffs…..totally lacks a sense of humour at times this place

Yep Hurdy, totally agree. Those Aussies take themselves far too seriously.

No i think that is a bit harsh:) We just dont tolerate clueless twits very well :D

Aussies beware! TAPK is the biggest wind up merchant on TRF and will delight in getting you going for the next two weeks. Tipping a 66-1 outsider against your wondermare? Genius :D

HOWEVER – the man also knows his stuff (poster of the year last year)and what he is saying is there is some incredible value to be had out there with a few genuine questions marks against your horse.

I expect her to put on an incredible show and I personally can’t wait. But one thing I would be worried about if I were you is………THE GREAT BRITISH WEATHER!!!!

Guys we have had serious amounts of rain this weekend and it is forecast to continue. When Ascot gets soft it gets REALLY soft. How will your mare handle very wet conditions? I know she has won on good to soft many times but how does your good to soft compare to our soft? It can get very boggy at Ascot. Would she even run on very soft ground?

Keep an eye on the weather forecast would be my advice.

If you have a spare ten grand and you were given the choice of either putting all that money on Black Caviar winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes or Frankel winning the Queen Anne Stakes, which one would you risk the cash on ?

I know who I’d plump for. No brainer – Frankel ? Money in the bank.

Will Black Caviar even line-up ? I keep getting this niggling feeling that Peter Moody may get cold feet and pull the mare out.

Well done for naming………er 2 Fillies/Mares who have ran well over here,my point is this, being an Ante-Post punter myself I’m looking at a market dictated by the Aussie wonder mare, obviously her trading at 2/5 governs the fact that others are over-priced,if she doesn’t run there will be several horses who will trade 50% shorter than they are now,I believe there’s every chance of her not even turning up so I’m happy to find something ‘at a price’ that even if she does run is still an e/w bet.Joni seems to think I’m joking putting up the handicapper

,I’m not!last years Wokingham was run in a faster time than the same cards ‘Golden Jubilee’, at the weights Hughie Morrisons charge would have been placed in last years Group 1 so at 66/1 for this years race I can see him at least running a place, cometh the day he goes off at 20/1 with The fav, without her he’s a 14/1 chance, maybe even less so as long as he gets there himself I’m quietly confident.

Moonlight Cloud won impressively over the weekend at Longchamp and will hopefully take her chance at Ascot.Fancy her to push Black Caviar all the way and have backed her ew.

……. er they are probably the only mares from here who have raced over there.I take your point in regards to other horses being big odds, but this mare i think can race close to 6 lengths below her best and still win a good Group 1.As a 3yo filly when she knuckled over at the start and pulled muscles in her chest she got up to beat a last start group 1 winner. She had to be spelled after and didnt race for quite a while. As for you’Himself’ Moody cold feet  You should read what you say, same old thing time after time after time

Look im getting a bit heated back here in oz, mainly because its getting cold (15 degrees), and all the fun is going to be had over in the UK at the end of June.

I have seen her run 5 times in the flesh and it gets better each time. For those that go to ascot, go and have a glimpse of her in the yard and marvel in the size of her, the hind quarters are extraodinary.

Anyone want to sponsor my trip over there? Flights accom? Any help greatly appreciated.

Greek bail out = Black Caviar/Frankel double

    …just saying.

If the mare travels over here soundly and goes to the post in her usual form surely nothing gets near her?

I hope she lives up to the expectation and leaves her mark on Ascot. You’ve got to say that if Mr Moody pulls it off he’s something special himself too. To take a sprint horse (Of all things.) from one side of the world to the other and record a victory at such a prestigious meeting will be an astonishing feat.

The only thing likely to get her beat is the journey here IMHO.

Best of BRITISH luck to the mighty antipodean mare! :)

…………..er Jollyp just seen the pictures of your horse

    Black Caviar

exiting her flight at Heathrow, she was wearing a tight black Lycra number and looked sexy as hell. She’s bigger than I thought she would be but looked a picture, fantastic for racing that she’s here and if you fancy her strongly then take

6/1 about her winning by 5 lengths or more

with Corals. As much as I’m taken by her demeanour,She has an A*s like ‘Merlene Ottey’ I’m afraid for one reason or another she will still get beat, like Joni says our weather at the moment is more like Winter than Summer and if the ground does come up really Soft I’m not sure she’ll even run never mind about win! Great to see her here though….I’ll take 3rd place now on

    Pastoral Player

I reckon the ground will be good come the 23rd, but if the rain does keep lashing down in the next few weeks then I’d give

    MOONLIGHT CLOUD

a shout. Has won on soft ground in France, notably when thrashing a host of G1 performers in the Gheest, and was an unlucky 5th in the Champion Sprint back in October. The French aren’t averse to bursting a bubble or two so at 10/1 has a good ew chance, and Freddy Head has always thought very highly of her.

APK Moody said only a couple of days ago that he will run her in the wet there if it happens to be.Yes she is a beautiful big strong mare.Watch the makers of the lycra suit make a fortune if she bolts in!!! It is now all about how much she ‘tucks’ up from the flight and how quickly she eats and drinks. The 6’s about 5 lengths plus is appealing, though even if she is at her best they tend to look after her and if she is not at her best it is a big ask, though if she is at her best i have a feeling they may let her go to show how good she is.New suits bought for the occasion and am on a plane in 2 weeks to watch Nelly fly. The main reason is to experience the atmosphere there and hopefully see Black Caviar at her best and also we may wait 50 years to see horses like Black Caviar and Frankel race at the same carnival! Also for me looking forward to seeing So You Think go around in the POW,think he will win, should be at his peak after 1 prep there and if you can get the 6’s on Ortensia in the Kings Stand get on! Multiple group 1 winner and internationally as well, been there for a long while after Dubai, brilliant mare and i expect a good bet on her and 50% of the winnings to go on SYT to pay for the trip :) If not poorer but will still enjoy the experience very much! Have to buy your best form guide there to do the form on all the other races.Going Tuesday,Wednesday and Saturday.

If this article is anywhere near true then she is a pretty large lady, no doubt with a backside to match!

    from the article itself…

Where is the British sprinter who can give Black Caviar a hard time at Royal Ascot next month? Bated Breath, a contender for the vacancy, makes his return to action in the Temple Stakes at Haydock on Saturday but his trainer, Roger Charlton, is not exactly looking forward to taking on the Australian supermare in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

"It would be [exciting] for the general public," he says, deadpan. "It wouldn’t be very exciting for me. I’ve only seen her on television. What’s impressive is the sheer size of her. She’s 475kg.

"Bated Breath is a big horse and he’s less than 400kg. She appears to move very well and win easily and, even if the opposition is not always very strong, the time is always good."
