Just wanting some feedback from Uk forumites on what happened yesterday at York with Hoof It & Mayson, whom were both in the market for the DJS.

Mayson made a bad start and was never seen with a chance.

    Thanks for that.

No problem, Mayson actually got a leg caught up in the stalls so best to ignore the run. UK sprinters tend to be pretty inconsistent beating each other on any given day, that makes Black Caviar’s record even more remarkable. Apart from the travel, the biggest concern would be if she got messed about at the start, far be it from me to suggest any sort of local gamesmanship might be employed.

Very unlikely, did we not invent Queensberry Rules?

I say mayson win at his previous start, though he looked impressive and was shocked when he wasn’t placed the other day. Thanks for the explanation.

I reckon Moody will be hoping for either the extreme inside or outside barrier. I also think that she will be the last horse loaded into the gates, just my opinion of course…

He did look relatively impressive prior to last time out, but it was only a Group 3. However, in the UK the gap between top class handicapper and Group 1 winner is pretty much non-existant at sprinting distances.

This is not the case at distances of 1m and over.

Black Caviar will win by 30 lengths hard held – that’s if you’re an Aussie.

More realistically, she’ll probably win by 3 lengths or under – and at decent odds for a change.

"H" was having a laugh ffs…..totally lacks a sense of humour at times this place

Can’t see them talking any chances at all with Black Caviar. There will be no showboating, I reckon it will be floor to the metal and she’ll win by well over 3 lengths.

The 8/15 available is a bit of a joke really..they must surely be hoping she’s not going to show because if she does she’ll be 2/7 at best.

We are very weak in the sprint department. The likes of Hoof It looks more like an Ayr Gold cup horse than he does a world champion sprinter plus you wouldn’t know if our Mick would run him or not.. Bated Breath is decidedly ordinary in comparison to what’s been around in previous years and Deacon Blues is having a forced break.

The evens and better that’s been floating around for the Frankel and Black Caviar double might just be the best bet of the season for heavy punters.

Really wish Dream Ahead had stayed in training and that Deacon Blues, who quite like Ascot, did not get injured. They are the only two who could give Black Caviar a propoer run. What remains of the field looks distinctly average. IMO, the biggest test Black Caviar could face in Europe is if they decide to take her to France to face Moonlight Cloud.

Black Caviar along with Fame and Glory goes in every ante post bet up until June. Nothing beats her.

    Black Caviar

She’s beatable JJM,in fact I think she will definately get beat,I try to find something to beat these Aussie invaders every year and generally do,at 1/2 she’s very short for a horse a helluva long way from home. The best handle I can gauge her on is through ‘Star Witness’ a pretty reliable sort who’s experienced racing this side of the world but even accomodating his 2 defeats as a 3yo against the 4yo mare she beat him even easier when he turned four so she’s certainly a cut above him.The dilemma here though is trying to find something this side of the world to beat her………..Or do we? Admitted the closest I could come up with ‘would’ have been ‘Dream Ahead’ he had the world at his feet at four but he’s been retired,Collateral form puts

    Bated Breath

in with a squeak but he now looks like going for the ‘Kings Stand’.I’ve put up

    Pastoral Player

at 66/1 on my own thread and I expect him to go close but what I’m hoping more than anything is that what beats

    Black Caviar

is the occassion itself. First and foremost, she’s not even here yet and there’s every chance she doesn’t actually come then there’s the journey, the climate change, how many Aussie Fillies ever come here? Then there’s the race itself, she might just hate the occassion, the course, the build up,the lot! No I’m afriad all things considered she aint No certainty

Ok…a few things I need to clean up here…

    ".

That is the best handle you can come u with? What about Ortensia winning the sprint race in Dubai a few months ago…very impressively to tell you the truth, and beat horses that will no doubt line up in the Jubilees Stakes. Ortensia didnt get closer than 6 lengthes to BC.

how many Aussie Fillies ever come here?
one i can remember… Miss Andretti??!!

Then there’s the race itself, she might just hate the occassion, the course, the build up,the lot!
I would think 100,000 at Flemington for her 2x Patinack Farm Sprint Wins or the 35,000 in the cauldron of Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day would sufficently prepare her for the race day occasion.

Without sounding like some of those draining aussies on here saying she will win by furlongs, the knockers really need to realise that this horse is the best horse to head out of the country ever! The times, the ease, the embarassing margins to legitimate group 1 sprinters is mind blowing.

My tip, re-mortgage the house, bang it on the Frankel/Caviar double, head to Ascot, enjoy yourself and laugh all the way back to the bank.

    Wish i was there!!!!
