Rather than take the odds on I will probably be looking at Saamidd without the favourite or in a match bet with Dream Ahead.

2 horses in the RR notebook put up earlier this year and have rewarded followers kindly – Frankel and Dunboyne Express, the later we smashed into this last time out and although he won’t win there is value for the forcast.

    1.Frankel
    2.Dunboyne Express
    3.FRESH AIR
    4.LEGLESS
    5.PULLED UP

Don’t usually back each way, but NATIVE KHAN was impressive beating a decent field last time, like 14s.

If it’s good-to-soft or worse, then I’m struggling to see beyond Dream Ahead. Any quicker and the race is Frankel’s to lose.

If is the keyword here. Until we get a clue on the going which is of course the final report at the day of the race, Frankel and Dream Match head to head. It’s like saying Frankel is certain to take on Dream because the latter is 1 furlong short. Both ran soft and landed first, and both resemble one another in form, so a change in the going affects them both pretty much the same.

Dream Ahead I see is top rated which is kind of hard to swallow but he was very very impressive to the eye on both his last 2 wins.

They say Approved is a good yardstick but he’s no sort of yardstick if he doesn’t go on the ground and he couldn’t put one leg in front of the other a furlong from home at Newmarket.

Approved is without a doubt a top of the ground horse and it was that type of ground when Saamidd beat him just as easily as Dream Ahead did.

As much as I like Dream Ahead I would have to think there’s a good chance Saamidd will turn out to be the better horse. William Buick says Dream Ahead is some sort of wonder horse. He’s Damn good but when WB had ridden as many good horses as Frankie I’ll pay a bit more attention to what he has to say.

Tom Queally is a different ball game and he confessed recently it’s not like him to get carried away but it never stopped him praising Frankel past the moon past the stars to the other side of the universe.

I fully expected Ed Dunlop would wait for the Racing Post, in fact I was assured he would but the possible wet weather seems to be forcing his hand. He was the first 2yo who caught my eye this season the way he took off under Fallon at Newmaaret but the form hasn’t held up. I couldn’t get enough on him at Sandown and he won easily enough beating Made In Time but so did Fury beat him easily the other day.

Native Khan looks the part but not to the extent I would put him up as a selection in this field. However if any of the big 3 have a chink in their armour he’ll find it and he has to be worth a bet on the exchanges for a place.

All in all Frankel looks the biggest certainty since Arkle won his 3rd Gold Cup at unbackable odds.

Dream Ahead and Saamidd look way above average but they don’t look unbeatable Frankel on the otherhand has everything you could ever want to see in a horse and oozes class from head to toe.

Best thing I’ve seen on 4 legs since I saw Jessica Alba lookin in the mirror

"H" told us fill your boots at 8/11 I took his advice before before he said it. I’ll be mega shocked and a lot poorer if he’s wrong but I’m sure he’s not!!!!

I can’t be having Frankel at 8-11 simply because last time out he beat listed horses by 10l, whereas Dream Ahead beat G1 and G2 horses by 9l!!

I dont think Native Kahn is quick enough in a finish to trouble most of the field, and I would like to see him run in the RP Trophy.

I think Strong Suit would be intersting on good ground at 33-1, but it’s unlikely he’ll run.

Saamid already has time to make up with Frankel in terms of times both horses set at Doncaster, but there might just be more improvement from Saamid after only two career starts!

I think if the ground was soft then Dream Ahead will take the beating, but at the prices on good ground I think Saamid could spoil the ‘Frankel show’!

Saamidd won well at Doncaster and is clearly a smart three-year-old in the making, but I honestly don’t think he’s in the same league as either Frankel or Dream Ahead.

Frankie Dettori quickened clear of Approve with apparent ease in the Champagne Stakes, but it struck me that he didn’t seek to win as impressively as he had on White Moonstone in the May Hill the day before. My feeling is that there wasn’t enough horse under him; indeed, the field were already starting to come back at the winner as he was eased in the closing stages.

The Dewhurst is essentially a two horse race then and Frankel’s participation suggests that he’ll be kept to a mile next year, with Picture Editor booked for middle distances (I happen to think he’s a better prospect than Frankel anyway). His Ascot form remains open to interpretation and my instinct is that, through Klammer, he actually has a little bit to find with Dream Ahead.

Even though Dream Ahead hasn’t been confirmed for the race, I’m happy to stick with him. In fact, the more I think about it the more confident I am.

I"m not so confident as you about the Dewhurst AJ but if they both turn up for the 2000gns on Goodish ground

    Dream ahead

will have improved past the 2yo monster Frankelstein!

My Goodness we haven"t had a certainty since then! I beg to differ! I"m sure there was one just the other day!

It is not written in stone that Frankel will win next year’s 2,000 Guineas, but I have the same feeling about this colt at two as I did about Zafonic and more so, the brilliant, El Gran Senor. If he stays healthy, it may prove difficult to look beyond him that first week in May, 2011.

When Henry Cecil says categorically that Frankel is the best 2 year old he has trained since Wollow, who went on to win the Guineas and started fav for the 76 Derby (4th didnt stay ), then we all have to listen. :)

I do recall Henry saying how highly he regarded

    Daggers Drawn

as a 2yo! He was gutted when Xaar destroyed him,i spoke to him that day! Henry thought the world of

    Diesis

    and spoke highly of both

    Peter Davies

    and

    Armiger

!!! Henry is a passionate man who loves his horses,he loves

    Timepiece

as well, you know Himself! Enough said! Why did you not get the same feeling about

    Dancing Brave

,i guess his 2yo form was not comparable to Zafonic or El Gran Senor mind! I can sense a lot of burnt fingers coming next year i"m afraid! :(

Every man, woman and dog knew before Dancing Brave made his three year old reappearance in the Craven Stakes that he’d been "catching pigeons" at home, as the racing press used to write in those days – and some scribes still do.

But, as a two year old, he wasn’t really
tested, and was rated 11Ibs behind Dewhurst winner of ’85, Huntingdale, after winning two races at Sandown and Newmarket – hence why nobody became over-excited at the time, although he won well both times.

The horses of Henry Cecil’s you named were good animals, but hey, let’s not kid ourselves; Frankel is in a different parish to them. I’m sure the master of Warren Place knows that more than anyone.

    Himself,through the winter of 85,

    Dancing Brave

was freely available at 16/1 for the 2000gns! What price was he straight after the 86 Craven? this one will test you!
