Some mare DAR RE MI is
October 13, 2018 at 15:30 #1377249Impressive. I didn’t have a bet but well done everyone who backed TDH – and especially Triptych with the forecast
October 13, 2018 at 15:31 #1377250Indeed Nausered, TDH is “very special indeed”.
As long as he trains on is already good enough to win an average Guineas and Derby… and probably more improvement to come.
However, did take a strong hold early and will need to settle a lot better if he’s to win the latter..October 13, 2018 at 16:23 #1377256WOW INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!1
Am happy me and Jac both had the forecast
October 13, 2018 at 16:30 #1377259I would agree Nausered, there are some nice ones this year, and Too Darn Hot just might be the nicest.
October 13, 2018 at 19:48 #1377275Just got home and feel I have witnessed something very special today, Too Darn Hot was amazing and Advertise no way disgraced in 2nd place.
Not a bad forecast was it Raymo?
I did TDH win and Advertise EW and the Forecast

Thanks Tonge, I did take a few pics on my phone (not brilliant) but will post up later, if I can. He really did look a class apart
JacOctober 13, 2018 at 21:09 #1377277Great stuff Jac!!! He was incredibly impressive there. A horse who will never run over 7f again but the further he went the better he looked. I’m on for the Guineas and Derby but my only worry is that it is an injury-prone family…. If he gets to Newmarket in one piece it will take a very good one to beat him.
October 13, 2018 at 21:45 #1377278Is Too Darn Hot better than Calyx?
October 13, 2018 at 22:20 #1377281Well done Trip.
Does anyone else think that Sheik Mo probably looks at this family, with a touch of envy? Dubawi, out of a Singspiel mare. Comes along and usurps his own Quorto for champion 2yo. I’m surprised he did not win the bidding for the recent full brother, Qatar got him. They all seem to end up very good indeed. I’d have bitten the bullet if I was him, he’s paid some silly money for a whole lot less in the past. His families, real champions… Where was he then? Does anyone know of the top of their head if he was bidding on that colt?
October 13, 2018 at 23:01 #1377282
Is Too Darn Hot better than Calyx?
Possibly but Calyx does possess an instant, vicious turn of foot. He could well take Too Darn Hot by surprise. Too Darn Hot does look a class act though.
October 14, 2018 at 19:55 #1377370Thanks Joni and Nausered but the credit is all TDH’s, he just had to turn up yesterday and WOW what a performance he gave, when you thought he had run out of petrol he refueled on the run and powered home.
Good luck for the 1000 and Derby Joni we might be putting up a new Thread about Too Darn Hot Ruling the World sometime soon.
Anyway my pics came through at last from my mobile when I realised that I had had my Wi Fi switched off
enought excitement for one day. Not brilliant but this first one in in the cooling down area not the Pre Parade where they kept him nice and cool away from the other horses/Too Darn Hot keeping nice and cool before going into the Parade Ring yesterday

In the Parade Ring ready to run them all ragged
If you look closely Nathan you can see he’s smiling at you.
October 14, 2018 at 20:16 #1377373Is Too Darn Hot better than Calyx?
I think a mile would be a fair contest between the two.
10f plus Too Darn Hot
7f below CalyxLets hope they both make the guineas
Great photos Jac, I have a horse now that I can get obsessed with, the 1st since Toronado.
October 14, 2018 at 20:23 #1377375I think we’ll be sharing him Nathan although I am quite sweet on Persian King
Anyway…which end do you want?
October 14, 2018 at 20:29 #1377376Head, shoulders, knees and fetlock
October 14, 2018 at 23:08 #1377388Don’t be so naughty, you two
!
I have similar feelings like you, but towards Calyx!
At first he must of course fully recover as Johnny G. has promised.
If you hear any vibes about this, please let me know, deal
?October 15, 2018 at 09:26 #1377402Very hard to compare the two at this stage considering Calyx hasn’t ran since.
Got a feeling TDH is the better prospect for 1m+ and Calyx would do just fine between 6 and perhaps a mile.
Calyx obviously has to come back and show the same level.
October 16, 2018 at 11:27 #1377525Sorry Nathan and Jac, I didn’t want to spoil your party with TDH.
Enjoy your feelings about him and we will see what the future brings.
So far I can only hope Calyx will return to full strength. - AuthorPosts
