The latest satellite National comes from Exeter today. The usual suspects line up include some of my fancies for the race:
Present M’Lord – this fella stays all day and the 3m6f trip won’t pose any issues as he won at the course last autumn over 4m. Though probably prefers a sofer surface than good to soft and has a huge weight to cope with (now 7lb higher but the form looks rock solid) he looks sure to be involved.
Petite Margot – a very inconsistent performer but as trained by NTD he’s entitled to much respect. On a very lenient mark now after a poor 2009 and inauspicious start to 2010, he’s now 8lb lower than his last win. The ground is in his favour too but has to put those lacklustre runs behind him to be in with a shout.
Teeming Rain – another in and out horse but has some solid form in the book including when winning this race last year, and is now 2lb lower. Goes on most types of ground and is a dour stayer although jumping is sometimes an issue.
All 3 are available are reasonable odds (around 9/1) so will probably have a small play on each eachway.
March 9, 2010 at 14:14 #281334I have to say, I do like the look of Plum Pudding (going for a hattrick) and C&D winner Ibberton in this race. Fingers crossed, everyone!

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 9, 2010 at 15:47 #281350Two out of 3 in the first 3 not bad, who knows where PM might have come if he hadn’t have unseated. Teeming Rain proven quantity which is crucial in these races.
