Trespass in itself is not a criminal offence however the act of trespass led to a deliberate attempt to disrupt the lawful activity of other people and as already mentioned this can result in a custodial sentence.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
June 5, 2023 at 19:48 #1650622True RTB. Trespass in the UK is a civil matter. Can still result in a fine though.
Quick search will set you right on that argument Ian. First example in my search
(followed by plenty of others) https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/met-police-rape-accused-officer-bailed-b1051388.htmlMatter more accused of murder and serious violent offences too.
June 5, 2023 at 20:08 #1650623OMG, I use words for reasons, I said “vast majority,” not “all,” so I don’t require “setting right,” thank you very much, Tonge!
Feel free to go out and murder someone tonight, madam – just not me or mine, if you don’t mind! – and see if you can get bail after they arrest you!
I’m betting odds AGAINST it!
Top “banta.”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 5, 2023 at 21:49 #1650634Happens all the time Ian. Much increased since the court system seized up in the past few years, which is fair enough as you don’t want innocent people banged up for months, maybe years on end waiting for trial. I don’t have any plans for murder but I have no doubt that, if I did, I would secure bail if I convinced the judge that I was sorry and I am not a danger to others. That’s the only criterium that matters now. That’s what did for Animal Rising idiot. Didn’t promise not to do it again. Deliberate. Wants to be seen as a martyr.

June 6, 2023 at 19:34 #1650731Of course, you could argue the real culprits for The Derby being run at 1.30pm are, ironically, the sponsors of the Sussex Stakes, whose cash the racing industry so eagerly laps up.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 9, 2023 at 19:48 #1650982I didn’t mind the early start time at all. Means you are first up on the days events. If you want people to remember you, go first or last.
July 1, 2023 at 22:19 #1654086Attendance last year = 37,000
Attendance this year = 25,000.
There was a national rail strike on the day which is probably the main factor in the decrease. But the early start time cannot have helped.
July 1, 2023 at 22:26 #1654089I have always considered ticket prices for Derby Day at Epsom Downs to be just about the biggest rip-off in racing, and last time I went even children had to have a full price ticket instead of enjoying free admission if with an adult – even Royal Ascot don’t do that.
If that’s the policy and you then add insult to injury with a schedule entirely designed to facilitate TV coverage rather than racegoers, you deserve everything to get in terms of a reduced attendance.

Maybe the early start is to make way for the televised Lederhosen Five-A-Side Tiddlywinks Final later in the afternoon?
And we think we’re the only ones with problems.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 2, 2023 at 16:11 #1654199German Derby start is related to World Pool (initiated by Hong Kong Jockey Club) as it and Irish Derby meeeting are included in World Pool. So German Derby started before start of whole Irish Derby meeting.

April 21, 2024 at 19:54 #1691425Just as well the FA Cup final is a week earlier this year, otherwise it would have been another early afternoon Derby.
April 22, 2024 at 18:58 #1691492Wasn’t it run earlier last year to, as many city versus man united where playing just after?
