Deliberate dangerous interference.
Throw Olivier out!Value Is EverythingAugust 1, 2015 at 13:54 #1153086Not dangerous Ginger, deliberate careless riding

Thank God for our rules and not those silly ones they have in America & France were they disqualify easy winners.
The less stewards decide about the results of races the better, particular after that farce at Ascot last Saturday.

I’ve heard that for years. If my auntie had testicles she would be my uncle.
Don’t worry, jockeys themselves are well aware of the dangers and police it themselves.
Any jockey riding dangerously would soon be knocked into shape by the other jockeys.
It’s very very rare to see any dangerous riding here.August 1, 2015 at 14:04 #1153103Pathetic isn’t it?
Bully-boy tactics rule.
August 1, 2015 at 14:14 #1153137You can’t blame jockeys for exploiting the rules – he made a professional decision.
Don’t knock the jockey, knock the rules if you disagree with them.
I am happy with the current rules here – and I think to call it “dangerous” is to exaggerate.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 1, 2015 at 14:21 #1153164Yes, he exploited rules.
Maybe we should go down the same route as the French then?
I disagree – it was a dangerous move and he got away with it.

That’s just it Ian, the rules ARE there to throw a ride like this out.
Have you seen the head on. He didn’t just make a small gap bigger, there was NO gap there and he smashed his way out. Look at what happened to Royston, he and his horse could easily have come down.Value Is EverythingAugust 1, 2015 at 14:31 #11532027 day ban for Peslier

Good, but fact is if they don’t disqualify the horse in bad cases like this then dangerous jockeyship will happen again.
Value Is EverythingAugust 1, 2015 at 14:46 #1153238It’s fine and great race riding though to come alongside and deliberately block a horse in.
Peslier done the right thing although his move was far too aggressive.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
August 1, 2015 at 15:23 #1153311As long as they don’t throw them out jockeys will keep doing this rightly or wrongly …….

That manouveure was seriously dangerous and could easily have bought more than one horse down, you don’t think he kept it due to the owner/trainer do you ?, if it was owned by Joe Blow and trained by a small stable it never would have.
August 1, 2015 at 16:18 #1153383I didn’t write that.

August 1, 2015 at 16:31 #1153389If dangerous riding was involved the jockeys themselves would be shouting and screaming, after all it’s their lives at stake if any is committed.
The fact is none was involved and as it is a 7 day ban for the jockey is a severe penalty. He would have been significantly financially better off if he had sit suffered and not got the ban with Deauville taking place.
Some jockeys just have the will to win, maybe Ffrench would be doing a bit better if he had a bit more desire. As it is punters are better off as the best horse here is allowed to keep the race. Instead of moaning you should be thanking the BHA for it’s excellent rules on interference. They don’t get much right but they have with this.
August 1, 2015 at 17:15 #1153437When things get dangerous Yeats (and this imo was dangerous) the punter is secondary.
