    Please look at the 3:20 at Fontwell today and note As De Mee. This horse is a second-season novice: he has already spent one season over fences, failed to win, and is back for a second season over fences with his novice status intact.

    Just to be clear, the likes of Douvan and Blaklion are not second-season novices, as they won during their novice season.

    It just gets on my nerves when presenters call second-season chasers, horses such as Douvan this season, “second-season novices” when they aren’t that.
