A treble :
Mac Aeda wins at 10-1
Sire De Grugy wins 10-3
( prices taken )Urbain De Sivola deadheats at Evens.
I make no money from that third winner at all
* Edit – Hang on – multi tasking has its faults !!!
February 21, 2012 at 16:21 #392808Yes this is exactly why the rules were changed about 4 years ago re. deadheats. Previously you’d get half the odds from your stake, which would mean that you’d still make money from a 1/10 shot if he deadheated.
However, now bookies only give you half the stake, which means despite getting a winner, you lose pretty much half your money instead in the same scenario.

Not to my knowledge, was settling a DH as half-stake at full odds back in 1982!

February 21, 2012 at 17:47 #392824Ah really? I didn’t know that. I once had a deadheat settled at half the odds about 5 years ago. Next time it happened I was told it was now half the stake.
