David Bass Claim

Hi all,

This is my first post after reading many interesting threads and posts for a while now – so hello!

Like many of you I’ve been taking a good look at the Totesport Trophy card scheduled for tomorrow. David Bass is due to ride Solix, principally – according to connections – to make use of his 5lbs claim.

David Bass is currently on 39 winners (from RP site stats). Am I right in thinking that if he wins on According in today’s conditional riders handicap hurdle his claim will be reduced to 3lbs for his ride on Solix as he has reached 40 winners?

I’ve backed Soldatino for various reasons but given Nicky Henderson said yesterday that he couldn’t separate his three – a couple of lengths off Solix would be much appreciated by this backer

Richard,

There’s a three day delay in the change to the allowance after a rider reaches the required number of winners, specifically introduced to cope with the scenario you outline.

Here’s the relevant rule :

143.6 Unless the Authority directs otherwise, a Rider must claim a rider’s allowance to which he is entitled until 3 clear days after the day on which he reaches the maximum number of winners appropriate to the allowance.

Thanks for that APracing. Should be a great race – although from a purely selfish perspective those 2lbs wouldn’t have gone a miss
