Fell in the 4.10 at Sandown and it was abundantly clear that he broke his off hind leg.
Very, very sad.
RIP Dancing City 😢
April 26, 2025 at 16:28 #1728422This is very, very upsetting. It was otherwise a fantastic final day of the season.
May he rest in peace
April 26, 2025 at 16:29 #1728424Felt sick watching that
Rip Dancing City

April 26, 2025 at 16:35 #1728428The âWhitbreadâ has been blessed with very few fatalities over the years; I canât even remember any others. A real shame to see this happen on an otherwise great day of racing as ERL says.
RIP Dancing City
April 26, 2025 at 16:52 #1728438Heartsinker that was. Poor Dancing City.
April 27, 2025 at 07:48 #1728482Such a lovely horse and right at the end of the season.
RIP Dancing City
Heartbreaking news. All thoughts to his connections.💔Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 27, 2025 at 13:12 #1728507Ran at both Spring Festivalâs and was then asked to run in the Bet365 in Mullins bid to win the trainers title. He wouldnât have been seen anywhere near Sandown but for that. Perhaps all those involved might like to think about that.
April 27, 2025 at 14:11 #1728515Dancing City ran at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown last season. He won at the latter two, so his ability to take quick races was not in doubt.
I send my condolences to his connections.
May 5, 2025 at 00:07 #1729490I agree with Astralcharmer, Mullins was taking far too big a risk with Dancing City in the Bet365.
The horse had had just 4 races over fences.
ALL in single figure fields.
AND had fallen on his previous start in a 7 runner race.
The likelihood of Dancing City having another bad error – especially when ridden in the centre of a 19 runner field – was too high.
In fact I’d go further, the conditions of the race should not have allowed him to run. Should have stipulated at least 5 previous chase starts and had not fallen / unseated on it’s run immediately prior to the race.
RIP Dancing City
Value Is EverythingOctober 8, 2025 at 18:04 #1741480Just seen that Unibet are quoting the horse for the Cheltenham Festival.
Their odds compilers should be ashamed of themselves.
