Just saw his race on Ch4 and the build up to it. There’s something about him; the way he carries his head and the way he looks at the crowd….something very special about him.
November 12, 2010 at 14:50 #327669Hope so Moehat.
Got 16/1 about the Supreme.
Although might he go for the Champion if too good?
Value Is EverythingNovember 12, 2010 at 15:39 #327670Timeform certainly liked it, and seem to have rattled off a rating in double quick time – comments from Keiran Packman
"The facile manner in which Cue Card saw off his field shouldn’t detract from pre-race comments which observed that it was a well up-to-scratch renewal of the Grade 2.
"In returning a figure of 156, Cue Card has already shown a level of form 8lb in excess of that which would be good enough to win an average renewal of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
"Indeed, of the last 15 Supreme winners, only Hors La Loi III (162), posted a figure higher than Cue Card achieved this afternoon. To put it into some recent context, Dunguib was rated 136P at a similar stage of last season, yet was a similar price for the Surpeme.
"Of course, it’s no certainty that the Supreme will be his Festival target, but this level of performance on just his second hurdling start underlines that he will be extremely difficult to beat in either of the novice hurdle contests in March. It really cannot be underplayed what a hugely exciting prospect Cue Card is."
November 12, 2010 at 16:16 #327674I thought he was excellent.
Slight mistake at one of his hurdles, but he definitely has the gears to be top class.
November 12, 2010 at 16:43 #327677Very interesting about the rating relationship with Dunguib.
Couldn’t help but be impressed with him as Dunraven Storm is certainly no mug.
Would be exciting if he remains unbeaten going into the Festival.
November 12, 2010 at 18:21 #327684I am a little biased but he looked a special bumper horse and he appears to have translated that talent to hurdles. Pleased to hear that the trainer is unlikely to run him quite as often as he originally stated. With the Cheltenham experience in the bank I would have thought a maximum of two runs before the Festival would be quite sufficient. If all goes well being only a 4yo it would seem logical to target the 2012 Champion Hurdle.

Very impressive indeed – Dunraven Storm has always been highly regarded and Ballyadam Brook lost nothing in trying to concede almost a stone to Oilily last time – but connections would be mad to aim him at the Champion Hurdle.
I home common sense comes to the fore with the Supreme Novices’ remaining the one and only target.

Yeah id agree with that, niceline of form for Cue Card today but he wouldnt live with an on song Binocular…..he has to go for the Supreme IMHO
November 12, 2010 at 20:03 #327700Shades of Dunguib! Long time until March…..
November 12, 2010 at 20:05 #327701very impressive, could be anything
November 12, 2010 at 20:40 #327707if it was me i would go for the champion – but needs an experienced pilot in the rough and tumble of a big field. How high a cruising speed has he got ? if he can come off a fast pace he has it all before him.
it was the softer side of good – comes up the hill – with a light campaign there is no need to over exert before march
November 12, 2010 at 20:43 #327708I personally think he is miles better than Dunguib.
Younger horse, and can actually jump a hurdle.
I think he looks awesome, personally.
November 12, 2010 at 21:50 #327720Beau Ranger, I hope your not suggesting Joe Tizzard isn’t experienced……
I was at Cheltenham today, what a lovely horse, an intelligent head, not a lot of substance to him, but I really hope he goes on from this. Impossible to knock him thus far.

not at all
– it can be a rough race – thats the point i was trying to make.look like a very good horse – im a fan
there are a lot of good jockeys that dont get the credit they deserve
November 12, 2010 at 22:45 #327728There was a really good article in last week’s Horse and Hound about the Tizzards, their training and farming operation and Cue Card. Proper jumping folk who have got a really good horse to go to work on.
Looks the part to me and would think he would make a really nice chaser in the long term.
November 12, 2010 at 23:29 #327733Was very impressed with the horse’s performance today at Cheltenham but to say the horse is Champion Hurdle class is at the moment nonsense. I want to see him run in a big field helter-skelter 2 miler somewhere and then see what happens.
November 13, 2010 at 03:11 #327741I think it’s great for racing that a relatively small yard like the Tizzard’s can have a potential champion. I sincerely wish he goes right to the top and stays in the yard.
As for Joe, I am told he is one of the most liked jocks in the weighing room and with all the knock backs he’s had over the seasons I for one will be cheering him home in March which ever race he goes for. - AuthorPosts
