I just posted this on the Betfair forum re Micheal Flips for the Cross country so I thought I’d start the thread off on here :
This fella surprised me by popping up in the Ownership of JP and now with Enda Bolger having been under the ownership of one of Andy Turnells patrons previously. Always a talented horse, dare I say it, held back by the shortcomings of said trainer.
Therefore I thought he ran a very eyecatching race as an 11yo running on well into third in the closing 2m 4f rated hurdle at F’house on Saturday.
All a bit speculative at this stage, but as he’s with Enda it smacks of one being prepared for a tilt at the Cross Country race. Bet365 are the only firm to quote so I’ve had a nibble at 12/1 (now Skybet are 14/1). It will be interesting to see what happens to him over the next few weeks.January 12, 2015 at 16:21 #501270Spooky Mike, I seen that thread…….and thought "sshhhhh"

On a dismal days betting on Saturday, he was the one highlight for me, and although
Quantitativeeasing
is my main fancy, "Michael" is very much on the radar.

Lol, nice one Bobby.
Nice to see you can spell, unlike whoever named this beast
(look closely..)January 12, 2015 at 16:28 #501273Nice one Mike, I was aware of the spelling, and still got it wrong
January 12, 2015 at 18:58 #501286There is definitely a plan for this lad but not sure it’s the x country, personally feel that he would struggle to stay 3m 7f,but he definitely wasn’t bought for the hell of it and no better outfit to plot one up.
January 13, 2015 at 13:21 #501385Just hoping Any Currency can go one better than last year in this. The least Martin K deserves.

Martin Keighley comes across as quite a spiteful person and utterly disgraced himself in his treatment of Alain Cawley. Blaming Cawley for the fact Champion Court consistently falls short at the top level was very unfair. I’ve resented him since then.
Michael Flips
is a fascinating one. He’s got plenty of speed, which is a good asset to have for the usual sprint finishes in this race. My concern is that he was never the most agile jumper, so I’m be inclined to wait and see how he copes with the Cross Country fences.
Duke Of Lucca
might be worth another go. He was creeping into it quite nicely until losing his rider last time.

I’m sure the respective trainers hindered/will help Flips jumping.
Turnell was a clown of a trainer. Enda Bolger is a past master at getting horses jumping.
