I have backed Big Scu again for this, as much as I am a fan of Balthazar King I don’t think he will cope with the excellent finish of Big Scu

Seems there is a doubt about Big Shu’s participation. Trainer quote in today’s Post: ‘He doesn’t owe us anything and I really don’t care if he doesn’t win another race’.

A shame and a somewhat strange attitude given that the horse was arguably the easiest winner of the whole meeting. He tanked on the bridle and looked absolutely different class.

I could understand missing the race for a bigger target but just to miss such an obvious winning opportunity doesn’t really make sense.

He’s in on Sunday for the PP Hogan isn’t he?
Do you think this is more a case of trying to dampen any expectations on him?

Yes, apparantly he is going to run and then they will make a decision about the future.

Going on about how much of a hard race he had last April as if that has some bearing on what happens 11 months later. How much recovery time does a horse need? Mystifying.

Remember that this is a handicap, guys.

BK and Big Shu are going to suffer for their successes at the track. I heard some whispers about Pete The Feat running in this race. Not sure what sort of weight he would have to carry, but he’s the sort of nimble, tough, strong-staying type that often runs well here.

Oh no, I’ve just seen that Hey Big Spender is in this race which now means that I will have to part with another tenner. :|
