I have backed Big Scu again for this, as much as I am a fan of Balthazar King I don’t think he will cope with the excellent finish of Big Scu
January 29, 2014 at 13:27 #466432Seems there is a doubt about Big Shu’s participation. Trainer quote in today’s Post: ‘He doesn’t owe us anything and I really don’t care if he doesn’t win another race’.
A shame and a somewhat strange attitude given that the horse was arguably the easiest winner of the whole meeting. He tanked on the bridle and looked absolutely different class.
I could understand missing the race for a bigger target but just to miss such an obvious winning opportunity doesn’t really make sense.
January 29, 2014 at 14:04 #466435He’s in on Sunday for the PP Hogan isn’t he?
Do you think this is more a case of trying to dampen any expectations on him?January 29, 2014 at 16:15 #466448Yes, apparantly he is going to run and then they will make a decision about the future.
Going on about how much of a hard race he had last April as if that has some bearing on what happens 11 months later. How much recovery time does a horse need? Mystifying.

BK and Big Shu are going to suffer for their successes at the track. I heard some whispers about Pete The Feat running in this race. Not sure what sort of weight he would have to carry, but he’s the sort of nimble, tough, strong-staying type that often runs well here.
March 10, 2014 at 17:52 #470652Oh no, I’ve just seen that Hey Big Spender is in this race which now means that I will have to part with another tenner.
