Broke down at Wetherby today and was put down. Only 7 years old.
February 1, 2014 at 17:01 #466801Very upset to see that happen. We saw him win at Kelso in December.
February 2, 2014 at 00:02 #466839Saw it happen and was hoping he would be okay.
So many horses lost, it’s hard to come here wondering who will be next. RIP Coverholder another sad loss
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 2, 2014 at 02:53 #466842I get extra upset
when it’s a meeting that had been close to being called off but wasn’t; I just think that the fickle finger of fate played a part and, pleased as I was to be able to watch the racing today I sort of wish it had been cancelled and Coverholder was still safe in his stable. But then, we could say that about every aspect of life, I guess.
February 3, 2014 at 14:28 #466964When I watched the replay on Sporting Life I thought that Green Flag had struck into him, as GF lurched and dislodged his jockey. Reports on other sites seem to say that he broke down first and was then bumped by GF. Sadly the same result. RIP lad
February 5, 2014 at 18:52 #467159Watching another horse being killed while running through heavy mud leaves a lot of questions to be answered.
However I´m not the one to answer them. So sad and also unacceptable since a meeting can be called off. - AuthorPosts
