Definitely not a race I’d usually look at this far out, but very impressed by Midnight Strike at The Curragh yesterday.

This seems the obvious target, but it looks like he’ll have another spin before Ascot, so should know after that, whether he’s good enough for this, or if he’ll maybe head to one of the other 2yo Races.

The race is only priced up by Unibet, and he’s a skinny enough 12’s at this stage, but if he went bigger elsewhere, then I’d probably take a chance. I’ll leave alone just now, but I really did like the look of him

    Midnight Strike 25’s EW

Not convinced he’ll run here, but double the opening 12’s, so had to take it

There have been a few decent looking trials, including the Cowardofthecounty/Whistlejacket race, but I was quite impressed with Andesite at York. He looked very professional, and despite the relatively tight margin, I thought he was well on top at the line. I am surprised the second is a similar price for the Coventry as the stiffer track looked as if would play to the strengths of the winner. Anyway, happy to throw a dart at 16/1.

    Henri Matisse 25s ew

Even turning up here, after one race, rather depends on him winning well this weekend and probably Camille Pissarro not. But he is nicely bred and got a favourable mention in the stable tour. Got a good name too.
Backed him to win first time out at 2-1 and put a bit on for this.

Aren’t 99.99% of O’Brien’s nicely bred, and how many did he give unfavourable mentions to in that stable tour?

I have a feeling that race Henri mattisse won is going to work out well

The first 3 all look very useful

Well done. It’s your lucky day. A short head away from not winning today, and probably no Royal Ascot. As it is….

Joey O’Brien hasn’t been in good form last few weeks but has just started to pick up, most of his ran well at Gowran yesterday with a winner in there too so hopefully he’s coming into this at the right time.
COWARDOFTHECOUNTY was laid out for this before his impressive victory over Whistlejacket and has been given the time to mature at home. I’m keen on the jockey too, hope he trains on like Shane Crosse should have.

Very rarely i go mob handed into a race, usually laying mob handed, Arran @32s & star anthem @40s, really impressed by there runs lto and the forms solid, lastly ill add in the actor @17s, be surprised if there not all there at the end

Started typing out my reasoning for avoiding everything at the front end of the market but they just dont look deserving of being much shorter than anything above, the favourite beaten an undercooked WJ on soft ground fto…. Whos taking 4/1 about that? Ill be place laying that to 3/4/5 for a decent amount, id be completely against him, Trainers wildly out of form on top of that

A horse bought after finishing second in a Musselburgh seller, now runs in the Coventry Stakes.

Perhaps appropriate that the new owners of Up The Clarets are called Fyffe, as their plan is bananas!

Draw lottery this one of course, I’ll take two on opposite sides

Symbol of Honour and The Actor (to confirm superiority over Al Quadra – why are they a similar price, anyone else like to call this re-match? Opposite sides in draw – Is Lingfield AW really a good prep for Royal Ascot  )
