I like the course form of Wayfinder, but the run in this last year was very poor.
Fontaine Collonges looks interesting at a price, and previous winner Iwilldoit, lightly raced since his win should be there abouts.
No bet for now as the odds should be much the same come boxing day.
Surprised theres no traveller from Ireland for this.

Sure I heard earlier in the week they felt it was going to come too soon for it after Aintree, Viking.

Both him and Nassalam would be two huge swerves for me on account of that ground at Aintree and Chepstow just 2 weeks ago.

    Flemensfirth’s record between 29f – 32f (1.5f either side of race distance)

    150 runs (in 120 races)
    9 winners @ 6%
    22 places @ 14.66%
    Race win % = 7.5%

The progeny of Flemensfirth has seen a real decline in quality since 2014. Only one of his Grade 1 winners has come from a post 2014 crop (Minella Cocooner).

Of the post 2014 crop the best time to catch them is as 5yo where they have a 15.55% win rate and 36.3% win and place rate.

Was going to sit this out, after dodging a bullet with a couple of them. Seemed more sensible to leave it with the Screaming Colours bet, but having had a long look at Wayfinder and Domaine De L’Isle, I settled on Didero Vallis.

He was a fair fancy at entry stage, but I thought he’d never get in. He’s way out the handicap, but he’s completely unpredictable, and I’ll hope he’s on a going day. Haven’t bet him EW yet, but I have taken the 66’s

    Didero Vallis EW7Pls/66’s

    Didero Vallis 66s e/w 1st 6.

Venetia’s horses are in such fine form i had to have a small wager.

However, we’re due almost 24 hours of rain from tonight here, just over the bridge from Chepstow, that it’ll likely be a bog come race time.

I’ll place a win only on one of the main hopes tomorrow.

If Chepstow avoids the worst of the rain I’ll go for Charlie Uberalles. Had this one as a staying chasing type the moment I first saw him at Kelso before a novice hurdle and on trying chasing he obliged at first attempt at Perth. Interesting entry from a trainer I have a lot of time for. I suspect he will be a non-runner if the ground turns testing.

Added Chambard 10s (BOG), win only.

Very windy here in BS34, light rain – guess it is much the same just ‘over the bridge’. Heavier rain due just before midday.

Best of luck to all :good:
