Min 6/4, Yorkhill 5/4. Really looking forward to this. Think Min is going to win it. Simply Ned is back and Ordinary World amd Woodland Opera will likely line out also. Will be really disappointed if Mullins pulls one of Yorkhill or Min. Be interesting to see which way Townend goes
January 27, 2018 at 19:46 #1339505He will pick yorkhill
January 27, 2018 at 19:52 #1339507We’re assuming Mullins will only one run of the pair, hence the rather defensive overround. No idea which one though!
January 27, 2018 at 19:58 #1339508Didn’t Ricci say Min and Yorkhill are likely to turn up? If they did, I could only have Yorkhill.
January 27, 2018 at 20:47 #1339512I think Min is the faster horse. No doubt Yorkhill is a good horse but I think this will be too quick for him
January 27, 2018 at 21:23 #1339513How can anyone pick Yorkhill over min. Yorkhill is a total nutcase and liable to do anything.
January 27, 2018 at 21:45 #1339514Think if Min outpaces Yorkhill here then surely it’s The RyanAir? It’s the distance he’s won over twice.
January 27, 2018 at 22:44 #1339521Is he a nutcase though? Or does he just not like going right handed…
January 27, 2018 at 23:18 #1339528Heading over for the two days, really looking forward to this.
Praying Mullins doesn’t do his usual and pull one of them. Soft or better ground and Yorkhill smashes up Min for me (so that’s a length, the idling mentalist).
January 28, 2018 at 11:46 #1339574Ham he went left handed at leopardstown and couldn’t be controlled and the same at aintree previously
January 29, 2018 at 14:17 #13397182 miles will certainly be a different test for Yorkhill, but the proof is in his past form with Ruby on board, if you can keep him covered up he jumps just fine. He takes a very strong and intelligent ride to be seen at his best.
With the pace hopefully decent with Min etc in the race, you’d hope even with Townend on ( no slight on the jockey just his record of controlling Yorkhill wouldn’t be great) Yorkhill could be covered up which aids his jumping.
Both races @thewexfordman that you have pinpointed, have been with PT on board…the only races RUby hasnt got a tune out of him have been Punchestown 2 years ago( probably best excused after Aintree) and Fairyhouse going right handed which to be honest, even if you take the form at face value works out very well with Road to Respect doing great this year.
Considering the fact the horse jumped so left and still almost beat R2R is a testament to his ability no matter your view on the horse surely?PS for the record, i do believe that was a below par Min at Xmas as well, he was far too keen, so i hope he can also improve better in this race too…
