January 16, 2020 at 22:37 #1479966Yeah, it’s a hard old game with the shorter prices Aladdin, but you have to balance the shorties with your return…. I would have thought that restricting yourself to the larger prices, whilst very noble, is not really paying the rent. I would have thought that some shorter prices would help you keep on an even keel until the bigger prices start winning…. you might wait a long time for your 5/1 or 6/1 bet to strike gold, but they will be worth a damned sight more if your not 20pts in deficit… as admirable as it might appear, ignoring shorties is the way to the workhouse… keeping afloat is the main objective, whatever method is employed, the bigger prices are what gives you your much needed profits without having to use those profits just to recover lost ground.
Does all that make sense or am I just rabbiting???…
Let me give you a “for instance”…. I am a roulette fanatic,I am not proposing that you take that route because I’ve been playing seriously for 30 years, but the bets at roulette keep me afloat, they cover (quite easily) my losses on the horses. I’m not saying that I make a fortune playing roulette, what I am saying is that it assists me when I’ve had a bad day with the bookie. So in the same context Aladdin, I can’t see why a few bets at lower odds should do too much damage and may… may…. increase your chances of making a profit from this….
This is a longer post than I intended, but it was just a post to tell you that we are following and that there might be an alternative…. better than just giving up….

January 17, 2020 at 10:39 #1479983MrE that makes perfect sense, thank you for your input
my horse is 6/4 best price now after a non runner involved so won’t be playing it on this
The price range is part of the system as one winner out of the 6 guarantees a profit for that sequence.
I agree about backing some anyway and those that wished to do could settle for a slight loss rather than the 6 losers and the 9pt loss
To be fair I’m only really putting this up as an idea to those that might like to look further into it.
It worked for a while on the football but prices on 1st goalscorers on the “hot shots” are not the best these days. Sometimes you can have 3 players on one side all under 4/1.
The football system I like the best is Mr Green up but I can’t find an angle to convert it into a horse racing system
I wonder if Matron or Vtc would mind me posting up a football system in this section or is it total horses.?Charles Darwin to conquer the World
