Probably went lame through lack of doing any proper exercise either that or he has become a malingerer.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 22, 2024 at 16:19 #1713553Or that the Alveoli in his lungs are chock-a-block with cotton wool fibres…
November 22, 2024 at 16:21 #1713554The only person who should inform the public about anything regarding the horse is the owner himself Michael Buckley. He is the only one with realistic views and informations about CH.
De Boinville’s face tells it all when he’s lying and he’s a pretty bad one too.
November 22, 2024 at 16:47 #1713555I think i mentioned before a few times dont leave too early for Newcastle , this was coming a mile off . The horse is done . He has not beem race hardened , then been sick and now cannot stand up to a racing prep.
Even if he races again once the pressure goes on the valves will blow one way or another . Sadly imho a waste of a very very good horse .November 22, 2024 at 16:55 #1713557Colour me surprised as my son would say. It has become a circus and infuriating. The whole bookmaker sponsorship leaves a very sour taste in the mouth and surely is a horrendous look in what has not been a good week for horse racing. Worse still when he bleats about folk trying to retire him. Once bitten twice shy. We have had this will he,won’t he once too often. I’d be very surprised if he ran in the champion hurdle.
The best thing would be to retire him as every time he gets a setback surely makes a comeback harder.
It could be he is fragile as a lot of brilliant horses are. You can see why folk are giving up on horse racing when there is one pr disaster after another.November 22, 2024 at 17:03 #1713558Even if he does run again he will start tailing off after 3rd last , chuck it in and pull up.
” we thought we had him right , we owed it to the horse and the public to give him a chance but sadly its not there anymore hes now retired ” . Or words to that effect .November 22, 2024 at 17:14 #1713559“De Boinville’s face tells it all when he’s lying and he’s a pretty bad one too.”
I must admit I did not see it but I believe De Boinville advised the new Matt Chapman/Paddy Brennan show on SSR that everything was fine with Constitution Hill. But we now learn the horse has been lame for 2 days.
I wonder when the Chapman show was recorded?
This is the same De Boinville who is now committed to being much more open and approachable to the racegoers, at least now he is in with a chance of winning £500,000.
November 22, 2024 at 17:18 #1713560CH’s gammy leg just made the RTÉ sports bulletin.

Agree Mickey. I am not sure the likes of Henderson realise or even much care how important punters are to the sport. But one thing they should learn is punters do not need horse racing so much nowadays. It is not like the old days when there were terms and conditions on the likes of football betting.
Punters can get their betting fix without going anywhere near the horses. Judging by how much turnover on racing betting has declined, it seems like a lot of punters are doing precisely that.
November 22, 2024 at 17:56 #1713568Apparently if the race were a week later it wouldn’t be an issue
Newcastle should call his bluff and rearrange the meeting for a week later..
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 22, 2024 at 17:58 #1713569If the weather turns and meeting off his bluff could be called if they add FF onto another meeting a week later .
November 22, 2024 at 18:01 #1713570tbh Anyone backing C Hill for Newcastle or Cheltenham after that poor piece of work was taking a massive risk. Whatever Nicky and Nico said afterwards – connections of any horse after a workout can be looking on the brightside – but we all have eyes.
We know how brilliant C Hill is at his best and has been said to be an excellent worker at home.
We also know how poorly he worked last season at Kempton before being pulled out of the Champion Hurdle. So even if there wasn’t anything immediately visibly wrong after his Newbury gallop… There was always a fair chance something would turn up in the following days.
Value Is EverythingNovember 22, 2024 at 18:03 #1713571Come to think of it .
FF a week later ” its just a week too close to Christmas Hurdle , if they could move Christmas we could have run ” .November 22, 2024 at 18:48 #1713576“Come to think of it .
FF a week later ” its just a week too close to Christmas Hurdle , if they could move Christmas we could have run ” .”had to laugh out loud at this one – completely the kind of thing henderson would say
November 22, 2024 at 19:19 #1713578I imagine Mullins will be enjoying his dinner tonight , forget about CH being done Henderson is …
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 22, 2024 at 19:34 #1713580Every season it’s either this or that as to why he can’t run. Everyone knows when the Fighting Fifth is, so you bring him in from summer grass at an appropriate date, so he’s ready to run then…..if not before.
Going lame is possibly just bad luck, but it’s becoming more apparent that CH is one of those athletes who can’t take the strain of being in training…….it happens in other sports.
November 22, 2024 at 22:48 #1713605The horse just does not seem to be in love with racing anymore. Time will tell but it is running out.
