Won’t face more than four, maybe five horses and I can see him go off at 1/4 or even less. He was a best-priced 2/7 with the Wathnan horse the 2nd fav. If that one doesn’t go, he’ll be even shorter…. much shorter.
When I left the UK in 2000 , it was a win or three runs and a horse got a mark , when did that change , or is my memory wonky .
Used to be Luca Cumani plan , three runs up north then win decent summer handicap , more often than not at Goodwood then the horse turns out Group class .The rules on getting a handicap mark and how that is different depending on the type of race and the actual rating allocated get more complex by the year. CH is going to win by a wide margin, because none of the others will want to get within hailing distance at the finish.
I can’t recall the last time when a Maktoum family or Khalid Abdullah owned horse received that much attention when running in a Novices’ Stakes on the AW.
As Alan said he’ll run out an easy winner with nobody wanting to ruin a potentially low HC mark.
