I bet Baltic Bird for this Antepost last year. Got 100’s then and honestly thought he had a chance at those odds. Ended in disappointment when he was a late withdrawal, but he’s shown me enough the last twelve months to go with him again. I’ve taken 50’s just now, but I’ll happily take bigger if I see it.

Metier another that I really like, and seriously considering him

My initial shortlist was Pinot Gris + Shalak but i’ve missed the price on PG so i’ve left him behind. Marathon not a sprint, especially at Galway.

PG was my main fancy, but i can see Shalak running a good race in this again. However, he was pushed along a lot during the race, and that’s not really the typical Galway type.

I think i’ll back Weston as well as i liked him after Ascot but showed nothing. The trainer doesn’t do bad at Galway and he has ability.

Dads Lad is also technically very well handicapped here, and his recent runs suggest this probably was the plan all along. His maiden win here in 2022 looks great form.

I went for Metier at 16s and Enfranchise at 12s, both WIN only.

Pinot Gris is a fairly confident selection for me

The first two home in the 2m½f (2m130y) Easyfix Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 95-109) had a CD after their name.
In fact, they were the only two horse with a course and distance win. Just saying….. it’s Galway after all.
