LM, you are entitled not to be bullied, just like eveyone else – it’s not special treatment. p.s. according to the 2001 census Harrow is 20% Hindu.
DJ, what has all this talk of special treatment under the lawgot to do with Shilpa Shetty and Big Brother? And the irrelevance of your previous post is in a) the reference to the law and b) the particular reference to Muslims.
January 22, 2007 at 22:19 #104352Oh how I remember 2001.
60% might be a bit high, but Harrow council are trying their hardest to get the first state funded Hindu school in the country built on green belt land.
So I think it will be 60% soon.
PPS. Check this one out.
Full planning approval was granted without checking out the finances to carry out the work. Now we have a rusting steel building right outside the Civic Center. A true cock-up on Harrows planning department, but who cares?
BTW. Checkout the site. Because, if you make a donation………..
Listen………
The guvenor, I think his name is Allah, will praise you…..
You cannot make this stuff up!
January 22, 2007 at 22:45 #104353Lollys Mate is Harrow near Brent North?
January 23, 2007 at 17:03 #104354"NB: My use of the word bint doesn’t mean I’m a mysogynist – I just wanted to make that clear, in case any slappers are reading this. "
Grassy, best quote on here…
The most racist guy I know is Indian and he absolutely hates Pakistani’s.. Yet because he’s the same colour that would probably be acceptable. Personally I dislike the term racism these days and think it is too easily banded about. When I moved from Newcastle to Milton Keynes i was slated for being a northerner, yet thats alright because we’re the same colour and from the same country?! And I was in the minority to a greater extent than the asian community. A load of nonsense in our current society most of this…
.. this crap has been brought up Parliament and there’s talk of C4 losing their licence, for something which in my opinion, didnt happen in the first place.
Not irrelevant at all, as the complainers at BB and the blatant disregard of the law by Muslims belong to the same over represented, super-sensitive minority anti-rascist, special treatment seeking groups.
If the bullying had been directed at a white person, it would not have drawn the amount of complaints that it did, if any at all ?
If I buy a pub and decide to not let women in it, I would be shut down by licencing and prosecuted .. if I open a Mosque and do the same I wont ?
.. as Aragorn says ‘its a load of nonsense’.
January 23, 2007 at 22:57 #104356Dave stop digging mate!
You would be as welcome in a Mosque as you would be in a Chapel or Church. Show respect in any of these places there would be no problem. Barring a woman from a pub is not the same.
January 24, 2007 at 10:06 #104357.. okay, where else can you ban a woman, because she’s a woman and not get prosecuted?
January 24, 2007 at 11:54 #104358There are plenty of men only Gentlemen’s Clubs in the UK …
(There are even some women only ones)
January 24, 2007 at 12:28 #104359Or an all boys’ school? Or the men-only changing area of a swimming pool?
There are some areas where women just don’t want to go! The point about a mosque is presumably Muslim women have chosen to accept the teaching and agree that some areas of the mosque are not open to them.

Yes, Harrow is near Brent north.
Its a continuation of the virus.
January 24, 2007 at 19:17 #104361Women Muslims worship as well you know.
I understood that there are areas in mosques where women can worship although separate from the male areas. Any muslim woman would not want to put herself in a position mixed with men she did not know.
September 21, 2011 at 00:29 #371520I knew that there were BB fans on here somewhere.
September 21, 2011 at 09:30 #371544Jeesus are there people still watching Big Brother?

Four years on and unfortunately the answer remains yes
It’s just a sign o’ the times

I’ve now bitten the bullet on several occasions and sat through bits of Big Brother, X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent
If the contestants on these programmes are – in Cormack’s words – "a reasonably accurate mirror of our society" then it just reinforces the belief long held that I’ve trodden life’s path from the distant outside peering through a telescope in. I have never met anyone remotely like them, and it must be said, hope never to
They are essentially freak shows, and in that respect nothing new; but still deeply unpleasant nevertheless
It is of course not the easily-led, impressionable ‘freaks’ that should be hated: they are really just rather sad souls one should pity. No, it’s those who earn their sordid money parading them who should be hated, and with a vengeance

September 21, 2011 at 14:57 #371576Plenty of good threads in the Lounge vaults, Drone. Many threads went to double figure pages.
The Lounge of today is very different to what it was a few years ago, and that’s a shame.

September 25, 2011 at 23:59 #372057I read with interest that
Katy lent her ex £500
and never received it back.
Any friendly loans of that
size should have the family
solicitor attached –
however not if he was
using the money to buy
her a ring
