Noticed a few changes to the forum homepage today which led me to looking at the Facebook page. There seem to be some new names I’m not familiar with there and so I’m now wondering if we now have two groups of TRF’ers. Young, vibrant and sophisticated members on Facebook and the old, grumpy and less well-heeled on here?
Is that the intention please? It would probably be helpful if someone could explain the separate formats and what is expected of those of us who are left lingering here. Are we eventually to be consigned to the dustheap of luddites and left to fend for ourselves as victims of Forums For Change?
Cheers

No, you’re no being consigned to the archives yet Ken!
We’ve had our TRF facebook site for a wee while now and Adam has been instrumental in drumming up interest/followers to that. We wanted to integrate our Facebook (and Twitter) activity to the forum itself just to help avoid the situation you describe.
The world is a fast-changing beast, the internet even more so, we’re just trying to keep up. I know that Facebook and tweeting aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but don’t despair, we’ll still have the good old-fashioned debates going on as usual on the forum itself.
(btw – I’m looking on my right at a list of TRF Facebook fans and I’m sure they’d all be extremely flattered and pleased to be called young, vibrant and sophisticated!!)

I don’t know what’s more interesting now….reading the threads on here or looking at the photos of some of those tasty TRF Facebook friends. Is Julie McManus any relation to J.P. I wonder?

Kirsty Collins is a friend of mine on facebook, we’ve spoken a few times, pretty girl, she rides out at Ed Dunlops yard.
August 16, 2010 at 18:49 #313117Nathan Hughes used to be a friend. I think he’s on Facebook. Pretty boy though we’ve never spoken. Not sure if he still rides, a motorbike and sidecar.
