I’d love to see Midnight Shadow land this, but Paisley Park will be a tough nut to crack, while Aux Ptit Soins looks a fair price…..
He doesn’t hold an entry in The Stayers, but round here, I can see Sykes outrunning his odds of 33-1.
No bet for now though.
January 22, 2019 at 18:14 #1393276I have an antepost on Black Op for the Stayers hurdle so will be cheering him on.
January 23, 2019 at 19:26 #1393369I’d kick myself if I missed the 33’s, and he’s at least jocked up here, so I’ll take the chance that Sykes can make the frame.
Sykes 33’s EW
January 24, 2019 at 23:06 #1393529I would love to see Uknowhatimeanharry roll back the years in this, a very likeable horse, but I would side with Wholestone here, he looks just the type to bounce back here.
January 25, 2019 at 14:04 #1393583I’m with Kris. In 9 starts at Cheltenham Wholestone has never been unplaced. I think he’s a good EW bet at 9-1 1/4 odds with b365.
January 25, 2019 at 16:48 #1393604Not a fan of the horse but im going to back him to a place just because of the weight swing with PP would have seen him win LTO, west approach at 12/1 for me
January 25, 2019 at 22:06 #1393661With Sykes not going, I’ll be with Midnight Shadow, who I’d have been betting anyway.
Has to step up again, but see no reason why he can’t, and he looks to have a realistic chance of adding a Cleeve to his Relkeel and Scottish Champion Hurdle.
Currently on the drift, which is only a very minor concern right now, and he’s a much better price than he was in the week.
January 25, 2019 at 22:54 #1393669I backed Black Op at 9/2 and Lil Rockefeller at 18/1 EW. I think Black Op is the class act in the race. He jumped afwul over fences last time and still wasn’t beaten that far, he clearly got some engine. This race really proves once again how open the Stayers hurdle division is. Besides Black Op I also backed my old friend Lil Rockefeller for this. He once won me some decent money in the Stayers hurdle (could have been a lot more if not for Nichols Canyon). He also couldn’t jump the fences, but did show his engine is still there.
Black Op 9/2
Lil Rockefeller 18/1 EWJanuary 25, 2019 at 23:05 #1393671It’s all about Paisley Park again!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 25, 2019 at 23:50 #13936796lbs better off with Paisley Park (for 7L), better ground should help as well as track – The Mighty Don EW 5 places: 25/1 Paddy Power
January 26, 2019 at 12:37 #1393781I do really like Midnight Shadow as a horse, he’s gutsy and looks like a classy animal. I think this is a good race to aim him at and the ground should be in his favour.
I do feel that Paisley Park is the one to beat though, coming in off that Long Walk victory; he’s saver material.
Midnight Shadow 8/1
Saver: Paisley Park 4/1
January 26, 2019 at 15:32 #1393820Paisley Park win and Lil Rockerfeller each way for me.
January 26, 2019 at 15:35 #1393822Probably my favourite horse in recent years, who’s done me well, so I couldn’t
resist the 10s on offer for Unowhatimeanharry. Harry Fry said he just wasn’t
the same horse last year, but he’s looked more like himself after his wind op
this year. Won well at Newbury and was going well enough when he came down last
time at Ascot. That was very uncharacteristic of him, the only time he has come
down. I love the horse and would love to see him run a good race
January 26, 2019 at 15:45 #1393825That was a nice performance to my eye, lovely horse.
Well done Lemons and Jack
January 26, 2019 at 15:52 #1393828That never looked in doubt, well done Jack and Lemons
January 26, 2019 at 15:54 #1393829Thanks Kris and G, and well done to Jack.
I have to put the winnings on at 6’s for The Stayers now.
January 26, 2019 at 16:00 #1393830Hard to pick holes in that, well played lads
