Class and the will to win are the two factors involved here, I’ve put them together to form a rating from 0 to 10.<br>Each runner in the race must have had at least 3 runs so we have something to base the ratings on.
Its a little time consuming so shall post up 1 race as a norm.
Class ratings are obtained by dividing win prize money by number of wins…<br>Example- winning prize money  £67,213 (use thousands and hundred digits only) so use 672, number of victories = 10, 672  divided by 10 = 67.2 rounded to nearest whole number so the rating would be 67.
Will to win is number of runs divided by wins.

Shall publish the table on how to arrive at the ratings in due course.<br>No other form study has been involved in todays ratings so they are stand alone ratings.
I think the general idea has potential, will see in the coming days whether there is a bias towards the class side of the ratings or not.<br>Got something out of todays ratings though, I’ll be keeping an eye out for any signs of a return to form of Pearl of Love <br>Shall post the ratings table soon as poss.<br>

Regarding the 3.10, I think the class side of the ratings has been a little unfair to Zhitomir and Efidium but time will tell.
I’m using the racing post’s life time turf starts and not counting AW stats. That will need attending to at some point especially when the AW season starts in proper.

I made an error with the rating of this race, I ranked Master Robbie 2nd on class when in fact he was 1st on class, the ratings should have read Blue Tomateo (5) Mater Robbie (4), what did not change was that I picked the wrong’un again!
