To avoid disappointment have no expectations.
The more I know the less I understand.
May 5, 2024 at 13:54 #1693020I guess “the lads” will have been disappointed with that run
May 5, 2024 at 13:55 #1693021The whole point of ante post getting imo is to spot a horse at a big price that starts the race much shorter. That’s an achievement in itself. If it wins it’s a bonus. Years ago someone tipped me a horse called Diamond Tycoon for the Guineas. I backed it at 100/1 and it won a race at the start of the season and its price came in dramatically. Unfortunately it did nothing in the Guineas but I was still chuffed that I’d got it at 100’s.
May 5, 2024 at 14:51 #1693040I guess this means he won’t win the Triple Crown????
May 5, 2024 at 18:58 #1693101Every cloud, Befair, and we have ~five months of peace before the next one emerges. Question is, where do we go with our superlatives? Listen, he’s like a tube of toothpaste?
May 5, 2024 at 19:04 #1693102If Sir Henry waxed lyrical over a horse it might peak my interest but now I take it with a pinch of salt.
The more I know the less I understand.
May 6, 2024 at 13:15 #1693315Aidan pretty much every year waxes lyrical about horse ‘x’ being something different or special or unlike anything we have had before to the point where it is now the boy who cried wolf syndrome. People just tend to roll their eyes now because you know a comment is coming
The reason people took serious note of Sir Henry’s comments was because he was never the type to wax lyrical of his horses at all and even with Frankel it was still guarded talk at best but even that was out of the norm for him.

May 7, 2024 at 10:09 #1693378Do we think the whole yard gathered in prayer every morning then put his cotton wool back on.
The more I know the less I understand.

May 7, 2024 at 17:37 #1693398He’s gone back to the top of the Derby betting based on the fact O’Brien did it last year with a Guineas flop and may do it again.
The more I know the less I understand.
May 7, 2024 at 19:35 #1693406Bizarre. The bookies really know how to extract the urine.
May 7, 2024 at 21:09 #1693416Anyone who is absolutely sure he won’t win the Derby – you can lay him at 5/1 on Betfair…
May 13, 2024 at 17:23 #1694251More Troy mania from O’Brien in the RP update now
Hope he doesn’t get cold feet at Epsom
May 13, 2024 at 18:00 #1694254If I were him I wouldn’t be spouting all this after the Guineas debacle. Let the horse run and if he shows his apparent talent then feel free to wax lyrical.
The more I know the less I understand.
May 13, 2024 at 18:28 #1694257Agree RTB. Not as if anyone believes him anymore anyway
May 13, 2024 at 18:52 #1694259Oh boy here we go again with his crying wolf again with the praise………..problem is that if he does end up winning the Derby, the media are going to pretty much wet themselves falling over each other to heap praise on his training ability whilst conveniently ignoring what an absolute pig’s ear he made of training him for the 2000g.
