Chezza went looking for Tiptree Morello Cherry yesterday, but, err, Waitrose didn’t have any.

And, male Hyacinth Bouquet that Chezza is, Chezza refuses to shop anywhere else (apart from occasionally at M&S Food Hall).

Chezza did however obtain Jac’s recommended “Old Times” marmalade and “Little Scarlet” is also on the Chezza radar for a future acquisition.

    The quest continueth….

I have to say that latest acquisition Tiptrees Little Scarlet, though nice enough, wasn’t a patch on my Italian cherry.

That said, it was strawberry, not cherry and I really need to obtain a Tiptree Morello Cherry for a valid comparison – both being vaguely red doesn’t really cut it!

The jam advent calendar is at the halfway point and it’s been an eye opener. Some lovely stuff in there although most of it not available in a full size jar. They definitely need to start doing pineapple and ginger.

All the jars are in French so I don’t always know what I’m having until I look it up afterwards. I know what blackcurrant is but quince had me stumped.

All served on sourdough each morning of course, I couldn’t possibly betray my middle class roots and have normal white bread.

Simply magnificent – and reliably middle class!
