This has the look of a very good race. Sometimes horses coming from Royal Ascot don’t run up to scratch, and an inexperienced filly like Memory could struggle to reproduce such a stellar effort so soon. However, I’m about to condradict myself here, as Radharcnafarraige is the one that interest me. She’s ultra-tough, ultra-consistent, and while she may lack that touch of class that a Group 1 filly has, she can be expected to run her race again.

, all alone in the moonlight,
i can smile at the old days,
i was beautiful then,
i remember the time i knew what happiness was,
let thememory
live again!
2011 Guineas winner still available for the next 19hrs at 16/1,she will be 7"s after this!
July 7, 2010 at 13:38 #305214Brilliant finishing burst from Memory, a few anxious moments for her backers, but she was miles better than that field. Radharcnafarraige just not good enough.

That was good. I backed her for the guineas after Ascot. Didn’t back her or anyone today but very pleased, went like a rocket.
July 7, 2010 at 13:46 #305217Ok, it was an impressive turn of foot and looked good visually but please, no knee-jerk reactions
Her turn of foot shown in her debut was just as impressive, if not better (visually at least), and she’s beaten horses today by a LESS margin than she beat them at Royal Ascot.
I’m not saying she’s isn’t any good; plainly she’s a high class filly, but let’s just wait to see how good she is. This performance has just reiterated she’s good, but I certainly don’t think she’s done anything more than she done at Royal Ascot.

and a rose that is fading,
Roses whither away,
like the Sunflower,
i yearn to turn my face to the dawn,
I AM WAITING FOR THE DAY!! 7/1 fav now!July 7, 2010 at 14:28 #305229Did you get your moneys worth with the 11/8 TAPK?
July 7, 2010 at 16:19 #305248Did you get your moneys worth with the 11/8 TAPK?
TAPK was on at 4/5 last night,6/4 5 minutes before the off and 7/2 in running! Find me a Bookmaker offering 7/2 about a horse that only needed steering to win? Exactly, not a soul! Mind you Richard Hughes is a master of making something simple look difficult! I have certainly got my moneys worth at 16/1 del_boy!

Your eyesights fine Mr W!
July 7, 2010 at 21:51 #305329Top performance, who did she beat?
As I said earlier Mr Wilson, she beat the same horses today by a LESS margin than she did at Royal Ascot, yet has been slashed to as short as 5/1 favourite for next year’s Guineas.
We’ll see plenty more good fillies emerge from now until the end fo the season.
Special Duty won the Group 1 Cheveley Park in more impressive fashion than how Memory won today, yet she was 5/1 ante-post favourite after that victory. So for Memory to be 5/1 ante-post favourite now seems ridiculous.

You and Mr W can spend the rest of the season trying to find a better filly than
Memory
! You wont! This filly has everything a 1000gns winner needs! Trust me i know!

OneEye makes a very good point though and you have to respect the information he’s put forward, I like Maqaasid more than Memory from Royal Ascot though

That is a little unfair as Memory beat Radharcnafarraige by more or less the same distance though Hooray was a lot closer and Serena’s Pride was beaten further by Maqaasid at Ascot. However Memory didn’t get a clear run at Newmarket so it is probably a little unwise to judge her just on distances. Maqaasid is entered for the Lowther at York and curiously the Nunthorpe which suggests they may see her more as a sprinting type.
It is early doors to be lauding Memory as a Guineas winner but she is clearly very good, has won all her starts and has a very good turn of foot.
July 24, 2010 at 13:46 #308208The forms rock solid now!! Both
Margot Did
and
Soraaya
have been firmly put in their place by next seasons 1000gns winner! 1st and 2nd in a Group 2 at Ascot is rock solid!
Memory
is different class though!
July 24, 2010 at 18:36 #308351Agreed TAPK! I was on Soraaya today, proves that MEMORY should be backed at 8/1 for the 1000 guinneas now!
August 19, 2010 at 20:24 #313656Another Group 2 boost for next years 1000gns winner,
Memory
in todays Lowther Stakes as
Hooray
holds on from
Margot Did
.I look forward to the Moyglare which will see her go 3/1 for the 2011 Classic! Miss Grumpydraws is not in the best mood tonight after her ride on Margot Did,she knows she should have won!
