Wee tip watch out for me in a wee quiz up North next time out at a big price, although after finishing 5th here all the fancy prices will be gone
March 14, 2008 at 23:37 #151318Corm, this will make you laugh.
I backed King’s stayer (Nenuphar Collonges) in real life but reserved it on the compo as I felt Mr Goldsworthy was going to have an excellent day.
On last years form Hills of Aran should have been placed, but like Hold Em, ran a complete shocker proving once more that, sadly, backwater stables should stick to Folkestone and that rather than Cheltenham in March.
Anyway, when Chocolate pulled the horse out and was clearly going to win, I nearly dislocated my jaw, back and wrist cheering it home. I woke the neighbours from the slumbers with my raucous support (they are currently unemployed) and they grumpily banged on the walls. It was like a demented version of the Skybet ads. I was congratulating myself on being a jumps maestro to rival JP McManus when I noticed that you had nominated it in the compo.
Not only had I consigned myself to TRF oblivion I had cheered on my own demise! (And then along came the P-T-P mafia…)
Well played!

March 18, 2008 at 12:18 #152242Many thanks for all your hard work in running the competition Johnny – it was great fun, even if for me personally, it was a disaster, with Tidal Bay my only winner !

Looking forward to next year’s one already !
