    Hi Guys,

Will be in HK for Cheltenham Tuesday, fly back Wednesday night (if the airport sports bar is showing any racing I will see just about the QMCC) so I am fine for Thurs/ Fri

However, anyone know IF the racing is shown on any of the sports channels(star sports), local HK channels or is picked up by a specific bar??

Would be gutted to have to watch re-runs thursday.

Jut thought with the wealth of experience someone may know something.

I guess the other option is betting X amount and watching through PP?

    All help appreciated

    Cheers

not aware of any HK channel running it, nor airport bar.

anything construed as a simulcast or near-simulcast is officially rationed in HK to about 25 races a year, none of them so far including any from Chelt. (even a recording of the Royal Ascot race last year with the HK sprinter barely made it to local TV).

if you have lounge access at the airport, most have wired PCs if you have no local mobile broadband stick for your laptop (forget roaming rates or the airport wireless).

for "live", other than uk bookie live-streaming (where you may find the stream anyway subject to territorial blocking), i would suggest having a word with RUK.

they do an international "to your pc" service, so technically it should be feasible for them:

    http://www.racinguk.com/page/Internatio … 42,00.html

but whether that would be at GBP 24.99 for the month or whether they’d stretch a GBP 9.99 sub overseas for a few days, who knows.

maybe use one of those GoToMyPc services and log into a UK machine running live TV ?

otherwise slingbox, or a webcam pointed at a UK tv set, or stick with internet radio commentary ?

for "recently recorded", presumably the RUK video service newly on the sporting life website will show it for free with the results after racing?

the player / catch-up versions from UK terrestrial channels seem to be at best temperamental even where accessible from outside the UK.

I will be in Hong Kong on Saturday until late Tues night, we have an office there. I will try to find out and will let you know if I find anywhere.

I was planning to shove a fiver on each race with Skybet and watch it online if it’s not on anywhere..

outside UK / IRE, it seems RUK is distributed "to six continents" through these South African chaps:

whose "Racing International" channel is said to be "totally secure encrypted with videoguard".

(some interesting comments in passing on that page about commingling into UK pools)

in France this tv arrangement seems to translate into Equidia, showing Chelt and available on several ADSL outlets, but seemingly always as part of a "bouquet basique":

Okay – think I will end up doing the same as Chris and just sticking a fiver a race on throgh Paddy to sit and watch them.

Though if you see anything beforehand Chris, please let me know!

    Cheers for your help.
