So who’s going to Cheltenham and has anyone got tips for making the whole thing more enjoyable without exhausting yourself and your wallet?

    Here are my top five:

    1. It’s probably best not to stay in Cheltenham itself unless you’re into being "entertained" all night by karaoke-type songs from fellow racegoers.

    2. The shortest queue for a coffee is usually at the stall on the way from the winner’s enclosure to the pre-parade ring. It also tastes better than the stuff on offer from people with backpacks.

    3. If you’re like me and think £2.50 each way is a big bet, choose your course bookie carefully. Some only accept £5 each way punts.

    4. Try having one day in the Best Mate enclosure. It’s a bit like being at a different meeting, but it’s much cheaper, there’s room to breathe, a fantastic view from the free open stand and you can also visit the great horse’s grave.

    5. If you aren’t an owner or trainer, use one of the car parks outside the course. It will still take a while to get out, but not the hours of frustration and misery spent trying to escape from the centre of the course.

    Any more folks?

    Hey mate,

check this website, http://www.cheltenhamtips.co.uk, I come across this on google and have found it a great read – not seen anything like it around especially with these ripoff books on the RP, it rivals any publication out there.
