“I scored a big fat zero today, despite having a lot of fancied horses (four of the eight horses I put up were favourites!!).Is that a Cheltenham Competition First?
Am I barred?”
Good luck Quelle, certainly not the 1st to have the dreaded Nil Point,
I’m in that club too, so you’re definitely not barredMarch 18, 2022 at 14:12 #1588483A very well supported Fav in the 1st, and plenty
on the places too. Nice startMarch 18, 2022 at 14:22 #1588485“Dropping out. Not my year. 🙂”
Hi Mr Han, if you’re still with us,sorry to hear you’ve had
a bad year, you’re very welcome to stay and take part in the
competitions. We’ve all had bad spells, but you’re more than
welcome to stay for the craic (certainly not mine) and there’s
some good prizes with some of the competitions, all the best
mateMarch 18, 2022 at 14:28 #158848816/1 Nap selection, second in the County. Thanks for getting one chucked in at the weights Mr Mullins!
March 18, 2022 at 14:46 #1588494Good pick, but a sore one Cork
March 18, 2022 at 14:54 #1588497Aaronizneez thanks very much for the offer of help perhaps looking for
a table for next year. My son and his partner are coming up from London
tomorrow for a few days. It’s beyond me but his partner runs a dept in a
analytics company. I’m hoping to pick her brains whilst she’s up here,
hopefully I might learn enough to be able to put something together myself.
Thanks very much for the offer (I haven’t said no yet )March 18, 2022 at 15:30 #1588519It’s the Willie Mullins Show at the moment, Very understandable with
the 1st 2, but running over them I was pleased to see that Kevin jumped
onto his so called 2nd string The Nice Guy at 16/1 (how many times have
we seen that). So, very well done to Krypton.Very well done, Aaronizneez is looking over his shoulder.
Seasider you were of the same mind as me, I took Green Book this
morning at 50/1 with Betfred and we both napped it. He ran alone
up the other side of the course, but held on for 5th. no points,
16 runners, but a reasonable return from Fred**Correction, I did mean The Nice Guy, not Hillcrest, all sorted
now. It’s the shellshock you know **** Anyone who has already read this post, apologies for the sh^t,
all sorted. Anyone who didn’t read, it, nothing to see here, move
along Move along **Groan
March 18, 2022 at 15:42 #1588528The Queen of Cheltenham, Rachael Blackmore, I don’t need to say
any moreMarch 18, 2022 at 17:20 #1588654“Seasider you were of the same mind as me, I took Green Book this morning at 50/1 with Betfred and we both napped it.”
BigG – Green Book certainly had a squeak of a chance what with VW’s horses running so well this week. Never mind.
The performance of the week must go to yourself & Triptych. Well done indeed.
March 18, 2022 at 17:25 #1588666“VW’s horses running so well this week.”
She almost trained another big priced winner in the Mares Chase.
March 18, 2022 at 17:27 #1588667Yeah, Deaf Jon is in love again with Williams.
Blackbeard to conquer the World
March 18, 2022 at 17:32 #1588686Thanks Seasider, I’m not sure about the performance of the week, I
realised I’d made a complete mess off Hillcrest/The Nice guy above
I got the 2 mixed up if I’m honest, I don’t know how many read the
original post, maybe they were absorbed with the Willie Mullins Show
and missed it .Anyway, not to worry, 1 race and we’re done
Actually I still managed to enjoy the show, despite
the occassional panic, how could I notMarch 18, 2022 at 19:26 #1588746Ok I’ve got the scores all added up, and rather than
wait until I get the columns all sorted out I’m going
to call the winner and runners upSo it’a HUGE slap on the back and congratulations to
Aaronizneex for a superb final
tally of 247. That 3rd round was superb Aaron and nobody could get
near you on a difficult final day to find horses to catch up. This
is one of the most difficult competitions to win, very well doneCork All Star, you had a great run and a score of 182 Points, that
would likely be enough to win many a competition but it was just too
much to make up. It was a superb effort and many congrats
I hope you made a good few quid out it as wellIn 3rd place with 177 Points, even though probably having been scarred
for life by having to deal with the the muddy nightmare that was Cheltenham
on Wednesday was my great mucker Jac (Triptych) . All the changes,
non runners and rules that were brought into question had us scratching our
heads . Thanks very much Jac, I think I’d have gone over the top if I’d had
the horror Wednesday too. Great effort in 3rd placeI think Cormack will be contacting those to receive their great book prizes.
I’ll get the full scores up shortly. Thanks everyone for getting involved, it
was a blast, although how Nathan did it every other month for years, I’ve no
idea. Huge respect for what he’s done for so long. All the best and hopefully you enjoyed it (a bit) and maybe took some
cash off the bookiesMarch 18, 2022 at 19:40 #1588756Thanks BigG and to Triptych for running the competition. It was a lot of fun – but maybe not much for you on Wet Wednesday!
Congratulations to Aaronizneez for a well deserved win.
I had a good Tuesday and Wednesday with the bookies. Gave a little back on the Thursday and was slightly ahead today thanks to backing State Man in running.
I had forgotten about the prize! A welcome bonus.
Hope everyone had a good week.
March 18, 2022 at 19:50 #1588760I’ve had a rubbish Cheltenham, so looking forward now to Aintree.
The best things in life are free.
But you can give them to the birds and bees.March 18, 2022 at 22:02 #1588796Congrats to the top three and especially to Aaronizneex – what a great total & some excellent selections! Well done! I could have doubled my score for the meeting and still not won.
Thanks especially to Graham and Jac for all the hard work in pulling this together for us – it adds a lot of excitement to these big meetings for many of us! Your efforts are much appreciated!
