I’ve played the 16s today again about Monkfish today , GDC is an exciting prospect but 4s about a horse still to mix it with the seasoned chasers isn’t any value for me

I thought Townend gave GDC a good ride today. Kept hold of him and did not let him run away. His jumping was still a little iffy at times but it was striking the way he powered clear.

I am not totally convinced by the ratings of the other three, especially Blue Sari.

I’m not gonna lie – apart from the mare I was barely even aware who the other two were!

Shows how much I follow Irish racing.

Yet they have stonking ORs for novices.

He’s a talented horse, the winner, but 4/1?

    Not for me.

He’ll give A Plus Tard a nice lead to the last.

    At the moment:
Minella Cocooner for the Brown Advisory
The Nice Guy for the World Hurdle

This hot summer will be playing havoc with schooling grounds and we might not see some of the top class novice chasers til December

Did they not confirm TNG as going chasing mark?

Champ kiely looks a good prospect for the royal bond, a surprise supreme horse it seems

They’re sending TNG chasing but I think he might struggle at the top as a chaser and revert to hurdles

I think Bear Ghylls is a massive play at 50s for the Brown Advisory. Really stayed up the hill in the 2021 Ballymore after clouting 3 and 2 out. Nicky Martin has said that the work riders are calling him a machine. If he takes to fences and the injury hasn’t left a mark then 50s is huge.

Playing Kalanisi Star in both the Ballymore and AB at 50s. Won the bumper that Bob Ollinger won a few years ago and the form of it and his PTP has been franked by a couple of horses in behind.

Quite like Poetic Music in the Mares Novice Hurdle at 33s. 6th in the bumper as a 4 year old and won the lister bumper at Cheltenham on NYD. 33s seems fair to me.

Was planning on backing Allegori De Vassy for the mares chase at 10/1, but checked the other day and she’s been shortened into 5/1 favourite lol the fact that she’s favourite having never even seen a fence in public is ridiculous.

But it can only mean one thing, the lads know.

At this point, given what we know about the likely targets for both races I think a decent bet is a Gold cup/Arkle double of APT and Jonbon.

Jonbon could go off odds on and APT should be heading into the race a 2 time winner if Blackmore had rode a better race in 21.

After getting stung by Bobs Worth in that weird Gold Cup I promised myself never to bet on that race again, just can’t trust those staying chasers especially in the Gold Cup.

That’s surely as far from reality as possible?

You know APT is definitely heading there, the form is as rock solid as any, there’s no chance of an unheard of unraced potential superstar coming from left of field late in the day, the stats all confirm everything the eye tells you and there’s little doubt the ground is going to be ideal.

Staying chasers at grade 1 level are bomb proof. There isn’t a horse in the last 20 years that’s won a GC that you couldn’t argue a good case for prior to winning.

    “Win any race Skybet 150/1

    Jonbon
    CH
    GDC
    Facile Vega”

Skybet now 11/1 on the above bet…
