Nice form boost for invitation only and jenkins anyway.
And battleford did pick back up near the end without being asked any questions by ruby.

Love doing small stakes ante post multis. Trebles from 6 etc, Yankees etc

    Landofhopeandglory – triumph
    Thistlecrack – GC
    Moon Racer – Supreme
    Douvan – CC
    Josies orders – cross Country
    Valseur Lido – Ryanair
    Alpha Des Obeaux – RSA

Proper antepost bets begin for me in the January to early February time.

One of my multis over the last couple of months:

    Yankee:
Moon Racer 7/1 – Supreme Novices Hurdle
Alpha Des Obeaux – 12/1 RSA chase
    Landofhopeandglory 7/1 – Triump Hurdle
    Thistlecrack 7/2 – Gold Cup

    :yahoo:

Thank you Charlie, I have bet him at up to 20’s for The Champion and bigger odds for The World Hurdle. I would favour The Champion for him just now, but Mullins has so many for that that they might decide to step him up in trip, and I think he is better than Nicols Canyon and it looks like chasing for Bellshill. It is a total guessing game hence just stick with the one horse I like the most from the yard and leave the rest of them alone till the day when there is no confusion over who goes where. I just hope now that he doesn’t see a fence.

Yorkhill might just see a fence after all. As well as an entry in the Hattons Grace Hurdle, he also has an entry in The Drinmore Novice Chase. Both of these races are the 4th of December. I hope it’s hurdles from now on for him, but we will soon see. I look forward to his reappearance, and the continual Willie Mullins guessing game.

Graham Wylie was on Attheraces there and it sounds as if fences are the plan after all with Yorkhill entered for a Novice Chase this weekend. I would have waited another year personally, but as I am standing by him, I am happy to take a risk on him for The Arkle which he is at 9-1 best priced.

If I was backing Yorkhill for the Arkle then I’d probably want to be on Min @ 16s for the JLT.

Likewise I don’t tend to bet until mid January at the earliest usually but I do like the look of FLETCHERS FLYER in the 4 miler – the horse is a proper stayer after winning over 3m6f in Ireland last time and could improve some more on Spring ground.

I backed GETABIRD on debut and looks to have a good chance in the Bumper, but 6/1 is way too short considering some promising types may not have even been out yet. Samara is also meant to be a machine and is 25/1 with some firms…

I wouldn’t completely give up on Vibrato Valtat for the Ryanair. Had a torrid time at Sundown in the Tingle Creek, but he was running well last year when falling 4 out. He should come down some more in the handicap until then and the 50/1 on offer is huge.

I’m really sorry for putting up a price that has gone but have bet Defi De Seuil for The Triumph Hurdle at 14-1. I need a change of luck as the lack of news about my first Cheltenham bet in this thread is a real worry. That was on Traffuc Fluide and I am close to ripping that slip up

    Ive done a £150 ANTEPOST L15

JLT- YORKHILL- 5/1 (NAP of the festival)
    RYANAIR- UDS 8/1
    MARES HURDLE- VVM 5/2
    RSA- Bellshill 8/1

Is that a legit bet? I would not want to be relying on 4 Willie Mullins’ horses running in their ‘supposed’ targets. All you need is one domino to fall out of place + your bet’s f***ed.

Why wouldn’t it be a legit bet? Ante post betting is always a risk. I don’t think it’s a bad bet, If one hits its double odds and will get some stake back. If two hit will be reasonable profit.

I have always done ok backing Mullins horses ante post in L15, I never bet singles ante post for the festival.

It’s likely some will miss there targets but I would rather back Yorkhill now at 5/1 because it likely if he takes to fences this weekend he will be cut to about 2/1 and Will be odds on on the day. You have got to assume the only way he doesn’t run in the JLT is if min is get injured. But like you said you never know with Mullins, but you have to admire him because when he does divert a horse it normally wins. He’s the master of placing horses

Will Un De Sceaux stay the trip in the Ryanair? OK he won the Barka over 2m5f but this race is a bit different, and likely to be run on faster ground…

Apple’s Jade will be a tough nut to crack in the Mares as well…

I think UDS will get the trip ok, the main concern will be the ground if it quick. He is the class horse in the race for me and I don’t think I will race in CC

Apple Jade will be tough to beat as she has scope to improve. But I fancy VVM to reverse the placings next time they meet off level weights and having a run under her belt. I felt ruby gave her to much to do last race and won’t make the same mistake. 5/2 is a fair price

I don’t know about the allowances in that race. I’d expect VVM to win off levels. She was probably just a bit rusty LTO. Nothing wrong with Ruby’s ride, he came to win the race + Apple’s Jade just knuckled down.

We will see come march. I think they run off level weights in the mare hurdle

Hoping L’ami Serge puts in a good winning performance today. Nibbled at the 40s for the Champion Chase & 25s for the Ryanair. Still improvement in him, despite already being a Grade 1 winning hurdler, and I’d be disappointed if he couldn’t give 4ib to Le Prezien.
