Since there are bookies doing NRNB all races I’m going to start my video analysis.
I like to watch at least 3/4 races of note for majority of runners in nearly every race at the festival as there can be a lot of things to note that not always get taken into account.
It generally works very well for me and helps me dig out some value.
Does anyone else like to do video analysis? Those who struggle to find videos I would recommend sporting life who have a video of every single races over the last 7/8 years. You do have to have a skybet account to view these videos and are only viewable on PC/laptop, possibly tablet.

I think you HAVE to do video analysis. How can you possibly come to a judgement about a race or a horse if you’ve never seen them run?
I think it’s a good idea also to look at every horse in each race. So many punters will just bet on the favs, which are invariably overhyped and overbet.

What I was trying to say is some people will remember their horses runs from memory but I like to re-watch and also go back to other races.
Also some people like to study the form via stats and race reports and the form being frankedFebruary 3, 2017 at 14:07 #1285497Does anyone else like to do video analysis?

February 4, 2017 at 12:38 #1285713An update from my earlier post, as I had edited it about a dozen times, and was starting to look messy.
I could go “green” on Gold Cup right now, and almost there with Ryanair, thanks to Champagne West. I was already happy with my position on The Champion Hurdle………….but with Sutton Place getting re-introduced by Betfair
it is now a completely green book for me. **Edit, Gold Cup is now a Green Book too.Supreme

Main betting race for me along with The National, and already in a good position this year thanks to Empire of Dirt. Good few have been bet and subsequently laid off, but I’ve kept those in, who still have an entry. The big winner for me in this book last year was Carlingford Lough, and laying that bet off, paid for Cheltenham last year. Ironically, he’s my biggest loser this time around. Main fancies were always Native River, Zabana, and Minella Rocco.Native River 33’s ew

Taken a risk on targets. I’m not that mad doing a bet over 1k 6 weeks before the festival.
But have been nibbling since July and looking back through Ive easierly bet a grand. But the dangerous thing it doesn’t feel like I have.
February 5, 2017 at 09:27 #1285856Quite a bit of uncertainty still in my book up to now. A few jabs to the face but nothing too serious apart from a heavy blow to the ribs with Valseur Lido at 33’s – 25’s which was softened a bit by Cue Card coming back into the GC picture. Overall about £100 in the bin
Anyhow, added a few NRNB bets lately

February 5, 2017 at 15:20 #128596533/1 presenting Percy for the pertemps. Always ridden to get placed so handicapper doesn’t smash him. Connections won race last year. Both qualifying runs have been very catching. Jockeys have given horse really easy time. Davy Russell to ride. 33/1ew is a good bet

Watched the race also ATP. Certainly agree with you there and had a win bet @ 33’s also on him.
Down to 16’s in a place now so that price wont be around much longer.

I don’t think any bookies in their right mind would accept a £75 lucky 15 especially with some of those odds!

Native River Hennessy/Cheltenham Gold Cup Double 250-1Some superb bets there, VtC. Your Champion Hurdle book is brilliant, very well done. Early bird gets the big prices.
I stupidly had a poxy £4 on Sutton Place at 120. £4! His price was only going to go one way. Really really silly of me.
February 5, 2017 at 17:46 #1286005Auvergnat cross country.
Ew 25/1
Looked to be going well off a low weight behind the French horse and Cantlow last time out. Only his 2nd start over the discipline. And expect more to come. Half the price with most other books and well supported today.I went to back this last week at 20/1 but wasn’t surr if:
a) he’d got up after running into the rails as a loose horse last week
b) he’d recover from that nasty looking incident even if he was on
c) if he would even be coming back for the Cross countryIf I hear he’s coming over, he’ll be in a few multis. Backed him last week so tracked him round and he was going beautifully behind the other French horse when unseating and off a low weight, looks a good value bet each way.
He’s (Auvergnat) only a seven-year-old and should have a nice future at this game. He will have to go for the cross-country now at Cheltenham next month. He had a look there last week, and it was just unfortunate (unseated and then fell when loose) what happened then.”
February 6, 2017 at 00:13 #1286064Thanks Zark

Really really happy with how it’s went so far. Slightly pissed that I didn’t green out on Ryanair when I had the chance with Champagne West (before being confirmed for Gold Cup), but considering how badly I did in The Ryanair last year, and the position that Champagne has got me to, with my Gold Cup Book, I have a bit of cheek complaining. I added Empire of Dirt yesterday to this market yesterday, he went out a fair bit, and that might give me a chance to make the book a bit more respectable, as I already have him at that 40’s. I still really want him to go Gold Cup though.
Sutton Place is a funny one, and I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Although the market suggests he’ll be going to Newbury, it would be a VERY big turnaround from the trainer. He was very definite about not going, and also non committal about Cheltenham. It would be an excellent result for me, were he to win at Newbury, but in all honesty, I’m 90% expecting him not to be declared today.
