With Don Poli, Tell Us More and No More Heroes, Gigginstown have a team to rival Ricci’s imo. At this time of year there’s usually lots of talk about how Mullins’ dominance is unhealthy but it’s good to see Noel Meade having a good year and Gordon Elliott a great one.

I don’t think I have ever been as involved in Cheltenham before February as this season. Hoping for a great meeting for the Irish.

SILVINIACO CONTI to win 2014 King George & 2015 Gold Cup (20/1)

DYNASTE 33/1 each-way in the Gold Cup

THOMAS CRAPPER 16/1 each-way in the Novices H’cap Chase

SOMERSBY 33/1 each-way in the Champion Chase (hoping none of the big guns turn up)

Rich Ricci to have 4 or more winners 14/1

Treble: FAUGHEEN (Champion Hurdle) + CHAMPAGNE FEVER (Ryanair) + PEACE AND CO (Triumph Hurdle) @ 71/1

Each-way double: TELL US MORE (Neptune) + HARGAM (Triumph) @164/1

THOMAS CRAPPER 16/1 each-way in the Novices H’cap Chase

I bet him today as well Charles, loves the track, and has had a very satisfactory start to fences……..good luck.

Love the name of this one.

No doubt you boys will be hoping he

    can

    handle

    the track, doesn’t

    pull

too hard and leaves you feeling

    flushed

    with success.

On the other hand he might bump into a big

    steamer

on the day and doesn’t cope with the

    bend

    , leaving the

    job

horse to win pushed out close home.

    "First, Number Two"

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I have had a good bet this morning at 7/4 NRNB on Sprinter, Here is my thinking for what its worth, If he wins on Sat he will be a 4/6-1/2 I think for the Queen Mum,If he is not right and does not run run I’ll get my cash back. Personally think that if he is 90% of the horse he was he will win in March.Very little downside to the bet I think but time will tell

Sound enough thinking there and the only potential downfall would be if Sprinter Sacre manages to line up at the Festival without a prior run.

With the ground on Saturday potentially being heavy in places Sprinter Sacre may not run. It would then be a question as to whether the stable will be confident enough to take on Sire De Grugy in the Game Spirit.

Both horses would be lining up on the comeback trail after injury but you get the feeling Sprinter Sacre has a bit more to prove and Sire De Grugy’s team seem very positive about his recovery and well being. If Sprinter were to win that clash you would be sitting pretty but defeat would leave a question mark, even if there was more to come from him.

If they were to bypass a clash with Sire De Grugy and that horse were to win the Game Spirit, it would probably mean the betting being a lot tighter between the two.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I did the same bet at 9/4 the other week on the same basis. I would be surprised if they threw Sprinter into the heat of Cheltenham battle without a prior run. If there are any health issues, that could be catastrophic.

On the reverse, I did Champagne Fever at 10s NRNB as if Sprinter and Sire De Grugy didn’t show he’d be a third of the price. If they do, he pretty surely would not be opposing them.

And finally my original bet from October Sire D G is sitting there at 4/1 as I didn’t think we’d see the Sprinter again !

I’d say he was almost certain to run on Saturday unless some freak weather comes in.

Things have been going well at home for him

Had a nice ew bet this morning on Mahler Lad @ 33/1 for the bumper, now trained by D McCain he took the scalps of the Mullins pair Bellshill & Bordini in his PtP back in March last year. He is entered up for a Bumper at Bangor on Monday which he may win very impressively and take a tumble in the odds.

I took the 20/1 midweek about Dodging Bullets winning the Clarence House and the Champion Chase. Although I still don’t have him as the winner I’m sitting fairly pretty and will probably have a fair bit on Sprinter Sacre to win as I would say there is a big chance of the form of today’s race being turned around. I would also back Champagne Fever nearer the time but I’ll wait and see how Sire de Grugy runs before getting involved in the race again given I’ve already backed Somersby each-way at 33s – which is annoying as I see SkyBet have pushed him out to 40/1.
