Cheers Wilts, Green and ERL he jumped them into the ground.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 2, 2024 at 15:57 #1711530Sam Brown is such a dude. They shpuld be trying to get him handicapped for the veterans series but he’s not having any of that 12 years old or not. Go and run a screamer in a Charlie Hall instead. Great to see and great to see a return to glimpses of Whackers novice chase campaign as last season was a disaster for connections.
November 2, 2024 at 17:05 #1711539Congrats to the winners.
Not sure what to make of this result going forward.
TRW – jumped really well and put last season’s efforts firmly behind him but I remain to be convinced that he is going to cut much ice against the top staying chasers in a Gold Cup.
Trainer said “The ground is the key to him. He won’t go for the Betfair Chase, he’ll maybe go for the King George and then the Cotswold Chase, then hopefully the Gold Cup.” Personally, I would leave him in at Haydock until nearer the time so you have more of an idea as to what the ground is likely to be…….sods law you don’t declare him and Haydock end up having decent ground.
BMG – I was expecting a lot more from him today but to me Cobden didn’t look happy from quite a long way out and I suspect that the King George will be his Gold Cup, I would seriously consider dropping him back in trip for the Ryanair instead of the Gold Cup (which he can’t win as there are far better stayers around now).
SB – that he finished that close (might have been closer had he been more fluent over the last two) does not read very well, as a veteran 12 year old carrying the same weight (giving 2 and 3 years in age to the first two) he is really just a good albeit exposed handicaper.
Quite frankly if they all rocked up for the Gold Cup, I wouldn’t be suprised if SB turned the tables on the other two as Cheltenham’s stiffer test would play much more to his stamina than Wetherby does.
November 2, 2024 at 17:15 #1711543Neville as a whole didn’t have a good year last season. Much better since moving to a different stable. tbh am livid I didn’t make TRW a value bet. WD RTB and all winners.
Value Is EverythingNovember 2, 2024 at 21:52 #1711612Well done winners.
Good to see The Real Whacker back to his best. I can see him winning the Cotwalds Chase if the ground is decent enough.
November 2, 2024 at 22:19 #1711635Doubt it, DBRDBR. The Real Whacker was back to his best, but that is some way below the best around.
At the age of 12 there is no way Sam Brown improved his form so he keeps the form of the race down.
I expect both Grey Dawning and Ahoy Senor to go for the Cotswold Chase and beat The Real Whacker.Value Is EverythingNovember 2, 2024 at 22:26 #1711644I’m pretty sure Mullins will send one over two as he could run 2 or 3 in this year’s GC
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 2, 2024 at 22:40 #1711648Mullins trained the Cotswold Chase winner last season, so it is highly likely he will run something in it next January.
If Mullins wants to win the Championship again, he will need to have more runners in Britain. He can’t rely on winning the Grand National again.
