Not impressed with his run at Doncaster ( too be fair he was beaten by four group winners).
Coolmore seem too be selling off their youngstock like arms dealers too a dodgy regime who have jut found oil.

Shrewd business to offset the loss of the stallion tax exemption imo. Expect to see plenty more of it.
September 15, 2009 at 01:48 #248898What would they have done with Changingoftheguard after the rubbish run at Donny.
Nope fully right get rid ASAP and recoup some cash.
They spent 20 odd Million on 3yr olds this year so they need to get as much back as possible.
Expect Bushranger to be sold also sooner rather than later…maybe even AOA now that he missed the final Classic for 3yr olds and can’t see him geting any blacktype next year at Group 1 level.
There’s also a few there that would make nice triumph hurdlers
September 15, 2009 at 03:12 #248906I don’t want another plodder who was not even rated as a Group racer by Coolmore in my backyard, please.
Well done to Coolmore – they must love doing business with David Hayes.
September 15, 2009 at 13:53 #248942Any whispers as to how much Golden Sword and Changingoftheguard would have sold for? How about future stallion arrangements should they turn out to be world-beaters – is that agreed normally too?

I would say there’s a very good chance Magnier would have negotiated some of that action as well.
September 15, 2009 at 16:30 #248953I am actually gutted that changingoftheguard has been sold overseas I would have liked Magnier sell him to his best pal JP McManus I thought he might of made a decent juvenile hurdler and would like to him aimed for the Triumph Hurdle.
Is they any chance that coolmore could sell some of their horses to JP McManus/Jonjo O’neill so we can see them run at cheltenham next march.
September 15, 2009 at 19:01 #248962Not sure if Montjeus’ have the temperament for hurdlers; they seemed to handle Changingoftheguard with kid gloves at York.
September 16, 2009 at 08:33 #249018Some really good young hurdlers are Montjues. The best is in Willie Mullins yard. Also Sabrina Harty has a very promising one. Also a couple of really good prospects in England.

As Andy mentions from a limited number of runners he’s already got Hurricane Fly (current Champ. Hdl fav.) and Won In The Dark (Gr 1 winner).
He’s obviously not bred to specialist jump mares so I’d say he’s done quite well so far.
Whether their temperament will kick in and they fall out of love with the game only time will tell.
