At this exciting stage of the tournement, who do we think will be victorious at the end?
There’s still some value to be had if you can find somebody beyond the obvious two or three. I remember at this stage a few years ago Porto were still 50/1 in a place and I curse not having the courage of my convictions.

Lyon are a possibility at a similar price and I may have a couple of coins of my Celestial Gold but Sevilla at 16/1 are the team that I can see being a real contender at a sporting price.

    Barcelona.

They have better players than any other team competing – and when they are in full flow, they are immense.

Or, if Real Madrid get through tonight, i think Real will win.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Liverpool won it. They have nothing else to play for apart from a top 4 place in the Premiership and we all know how good their manager is at the Champions league. If not Liverpool then the value may be with Sevilla as mentioned by the Ghost.

I wouldn’t oppose United to be honest, I’d love to see a Man Utd/Barcelone final played at the best of their abilities – now that would be some game.

Tonight’s match should be a cracker (United v Lyon) as Lyon play a very similar style to United and I don’t think it’s a case of either team cancelling each other out. I can see plenty of goals tonight.

Quick, 0-0 is available at 13.5

Great stuff from Arsenal tonight putting out the holders on their own patch,I hope they go onto win it now, Man Utd will be dangerous though as they have match winners in Rooney, Ronaldo and Teves, as for Barcelona and all the talent they have they just seem to showboat and they may just winning it outright beyond them, unless ofcourse they stop the showboating and up a gear. They were very poor by their own standards tonight and a repeat of that showing won’t be good enough.

Now all we need is Chelsea and Liverpool to do the business to make it an exciting quarter final draw.

Have to say I was mightily impressed with Arsenal tonight, a thoroughly deserved victory, against what I thought though was a poor Milan side.

You can see why they are so far adrift in their league, they rely far too heavily on Kaka and if he doessn’t fire you can’t see where goals are gonna come from.

Not taking anything away from Arsenal though, well played tonight.

Barcelona have to be worthy favourites though don’t they? With the firepower of the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho, Messi etc.. if on song they’re gonna take some stopping IMO.

AC Milan are so far behind in Seria A because they started the season with a points deduction did they not? having said that though they do look a team needing a clear out which I’m sure they’ll do next season. I can’t have Barcelona unless they show more commitment and cut out the showboating.

Chelsea have the best squad in Europe, massive value at 8/1.

Well, both my fancies bit the dust last night

Lyon played quite well but did not really look like scoring as a result of the great concentration and liberal use of the sneaky shoving and shirt-pulling that United’s defence specialise in.
Sevilla let themselves down with some dire defending and are a better team than they showed last night. I look for them to finish the La Liga season with a flourish now that they’re out of the CL.

I hope that Arsenal win something this year. They’ve played a bit in and out but on their day they’re very exciting.

I too thought Arsenal were impressive, They have pace aplenty throughout their side – an essential for those teams wishing to progress in the Champions league, and an added bonus when faced with an ageing Italian side.

Barcelona did enough against Celtic, but seemed to become lax in the second half (especially when Messi went off injured), allowing Celtic to come more and more into the game. In fact, I thought Celtic played well in the second half and with a little more belief in themselves could have earned a draw.

Man Utd were not so impressive against a decent Lyon side. I expected more from the English champs.

Chelsea may well win tonight but I don’t think the 1.28 currently available with Betfair is value. Olympiakos might not be another Barcelona but they’re nobodys whipping boys and have passing skills the equal of the English team.
I hope Chelsea win through and that we getan all England final.

I can’t think of anything worse than an all-English final to be honest (what would be the point of travelling to Moscow to watch, potentially, Chelsea versus Arsenal, when the two clubs sit only miles apart), and were it not for the fact that it would mean my beloved Liverpool slumming it in the UEFA Cup I’d be all for limiting the competition to European league winners.

    Have to agree with LGR,

As much as I want all four English teams to go as far as possible, I’d hate to seen an all English final – there’s something just not quite right about it.

If it were to be an all English final then I’d have to wish for Liverpool v Man Utd.

I was quite disappointed with Man Utd (and the match) last night, while Arsenal were quite brilliant. My only ante-post bet on this tournament was AC Milan to win outright so I’ve got no interest now, but if I had to go for anyone it would be Man Utd as they can be brilliant on their day.

Anyone who doesn’t want Barcelona to win this tournament doesn’t understand the beauty of football.
