Got a decent little bet on Chacun from before he won at Punchestown last year, but i am siding with Defi as it stands without having a bet on him. Never really warmed to him that much, but he looks a better horse over 2 mile for me.

Really, really surprised ( and glad ) they took him out of the Ryanair so early. Going to be an absolute cracker and hopefully they all get to post fit and well.

Off the last run surely you,d have to back Dynamite Dollars rather than Sceau Royal , he,ll come on for the run and he,s alot less exposed as well

Ruby has admitted since he gave Min a shocking ride in the champion chase last year not sure that is the best way to measure the relative merit of those horses

They tried a change of tactics and min ran by some distance the worst race of his career

Thought Dynamite Dollars ran a cracking race but my fear would be replicating that huge effort again in a month after a year off and on 3lb worse terms…so for Cheltenham I would readily back Sceau Royal to confirm those placings…

he was placed in last seasons champion chase on ground probably slower than what he’s shown his best on and was over 7 lengths in front of Min in that race…that’s 3 or 4 lengths more than CPS finished in front of him…

I think it’s fair to say though that Min was nowhere near his best in last year’s QMCC? Tactics change didn’t work?

Sorry FF, didn’t see your post, essentially what i said!

Sceau Royal is a decent horse, and a decent e/w bet in this as he always travels well to pick up the pieces…would i fancy him in a race with Min and UDS? No i would not, in any conditions.

King has been in bad form i agree. Saturday’s race was run very steady, and i think that’s flattered one or two in there. Dynamite Dollars ran a decent race, but his novice form is sketchy and for me i’d be disappointed if he’s good enough. His trainer can work miracles though!

Unless they find something wrong with cyrname does Altiors form with him raise another question , I never bought in to cyrname being the best rated chaser in the country , 3 weeks and counting , can’t wait

Cyrname clearly hasnt run his race at all either today or in the king george

Just didnt have anything like his normal exuberance in either race

Two ways of interpreting Altior’s form with Cyrname….either Cyrname’s subsequent performances weigh it down, or the effort in beating Altior was enough to break Cyrname (for the season at least).

Nicholls said after the race today that Cyrname for whatever reason hasn’t shown the same spark last 2 runs. He even said that could be it for rest of the season.

    Altior was lame this morning:

Nicky Henderson will do all he can to get Altior to the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase after revealing the brilliant two-miler was found to be lame on Sunday morning.

Altior suffered his first career defeat over jumps at Ascot in November, but bounced back on his return to his favoured two miles in the Game Spirit at Newbury last month.
All had been set fair for an eagerly-awaited showdown with Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi at Cheltenham on Wednesday.
But on Sunday Henderson said: “Unfortunately Altior was lame this morning, due to an old splint that has been dormant. It’s never bothered him before and typically it rears its ugly head now.
“We are working away and there’s lots we can do, we have two days, but it’s an uphill battle. We have the treadmill he can go on and it’s very cold water, which helps these things a lot.
“We have to keep going. We’re working away and we’ll either get lucky or we won’t.”
He added: “He was sound as a pound yesterday – you wouldn’t have seen a sounder horse.”

It’ll depend how bad the splint is , if something did ham it would be a stick to hit racing with , similar situation to rummy in 78

Yeah they wouldnt run him if a splint had any chance of that

    Thats obvious now of course

Sticking to what i said here, i could green out on chacun very comfortably now and enjoy this regardless, i might, but if DDS wins this i shall never return Even with altior out, i cannot buy into the idea that UDS ran to 165 on either run, definitely not more than 157 on the last start, being generous, i think defi is a 160-163 horse, has had 20 runs in 3 years, its a fair amount,

Im hoping paul makes this a proper gallop start to finish so we can see whats what

Shocking race without altior, truely shocking, if one of the front 2 fall or dont run there race this is a waste of time, sceau royal will run well again.

8 in the ryanair 6 in this, where are all the horses?
