I was seriously impressed by THE BIG GETAWAY at Punchestown. I know he was entitled to win but it was effortless. The form of his flat race back at Punchestown in May is also impressive. 1/2 a length off SIXSHOOTER and in front of FURY ROAD. FURY ROAD looking monstrous last time out and is also my fancy for the Albert Bartlett. I also read comments from Ruby Walsh saying this could be Willie Mullins best bumper horse this year and with his record in this race, Although its early doors THE BIG GETAWAY at 33/1 looks very good.
November 17, 2019 at 23:34 #1475261Did they not say he was going Hurdling after today? He’s 5 rising 6.
You usually don’t see Mullins best Bumper horses or Juveniles until Xmas.
November 17, 2019 at 23:44 #1475264Quote from Mullins blog;” The Big Getaway (Patrick) goes for the winners bumper. He was second in hot bumper here at the festival and has been working well at home. Hopefully he will win today and then he will go jumping.”
November 18, 2019 at 10:57 #1475272….S**t.
November 18, 2019 at 11:34 #1475274A lot of Mullins young horses didn’t really get going last year because of the ground. Horses like Asterion Ferlonge, the Big Getaway and Tactical Move would have been Bumper horses last year but never got their ground so you’d expect them to go for 1 bumper and then straight over hurdles because they are all 5 rising 6 now. He seems to be getting through his backlog of horses from last year at the moment. His proper Champion Bumper horses don’t usually appear until Xmas; same with his best Juveniles. He likes to get them all going a little bit later than most trainers
November 24, 2019 at 09:49 #1475745Wide Receiver 16-1. Ferny Hollow 25-1.
November 29, 2019 at 17:24 #1476109Ferny Hollow declared for Sunday.
December 5, 2019 at 16:19 #1476592Wide Receiver has entries this weekend.
December 5, 2019 at 16:46 #1476594I haven’t lost faith in Ferny Hollow, not at all. Did everything wrong, as green as you like and still managed to stay on impressively. Work in progress and one to stick with IMO
December 6, 2019 at 11:25 #1476631Wide Receiver running tomorrow at Navan.
December 6, 2019 at 12:31 #1476637I’d be very surprised if WR was considered for this race at all. staying P2P winner running for Gigg, i’d say he’s any price to run IMO.
December 9, 2019 at 19:34 #1476989Trainer said after his win WR still green and raw and will be minded this year and is one for next year. So swapped him with Hamundarson 33-1
December 9, 2019 at 22:16 #1476996Mike that horse has was entered up for Saturday at Down royal over a month ago… haven’t seen entries since which would be a slight worry. Hopefully no setback
